On/off button and mini load LED's flashing ON Hotpoint WT540

After completing a load I set the machine to complete a fast spin again. It did this but then the machine started making a funny noise and the on/off LED and mini load LED began flickering.
I turnt the machine off at the socket as the cancel button didnt work.
When turnt machine back on all was back to normal, but now the machine wont spin almost like the drum has jammed. But I can spin it easily by hand. Please help!

Make sure there is no water left in m/c, lay hose down to draln completely, try spin again, if still no go, remove motor and check brushes.

Does the outer drum on a hotpoint WT540

All outer tubs on most Washing Machines these days are sealed.
Therefore you cannot split the tub to get inside and change the bearings. instead you have to change the whole tub assembly as a complete unit. Not an easy job.

My hotpoint washing machine wt741 will do nothing except fast spin, LED display is flashing TEST, it will not stop doing this unless i switch if off, what can i do?

Hi,
To get out of it you need to press start, the display should go daft. Press start again and the display should settle down. Now press the on/off button and the start button at the same time and hold them down for a few seconds until the display shows d-end or d-off.
Your machine should now work.

Unplug your appliance before working on it

Thank You

How can I unscrew the drain outlet at the bottom front of my Hotpoint WT540? Our machine has completed a wash and drained, but isn't spinning. The door light flashes when I try and run a spin. I decided to...

Keep trying to unscrew it, as it should come right out for cleaning. A little water will come out too so put a small tray under the machine first.

Look at my other solutions, as for DOOR light flashing.

Hotpoint wf540 stopping on a rinse and spin and

check pump/filter/outlet hose for blockages. if ok, check pressure switch (disc shaped item at top of machine with 4? wires and a tube) by blowing into it gently - should hear clicks, then blow into tube to pressure chamber - should be clear.

Hotpoint aquarius wt540 wont pump out water

Hiya Barry, I have the same machine and for the last 3 days have had the exact same problem...mini load and reduced crease as well as power light flash right when it comes to drain...?

I have scratched my head and done lots and lots of research, reckon I could design and build my own washer now lol, anyway, I fitted a new pump and ran it, thinking this is it sorted, went out and got a call from our lass...doing it again.

Right, gonna have to get me hands dirty...I removed the drain hose (Ignore the pump for a second, I'm talking about the grey hose that goes from the pump to the sink) from the sink and poked my fingers as far as they would go...debris, I then removed it from the other end (Pump) so I had a long hose in my hands, not attached to anything at either end....cleared it and again, loads of debris (Fluff, plastic etc) and put it all back together...turned the old fella back on and running a wash right now as we speak...happily spinning round at 1400rpm and throwing gallons of water down the sink...I would consider it fixed.

So I can most definately tell you that you have a blockage somewhere mate, I'd get your hands in the toolbox and pull that pipe off, doesn't require any level of experience, just the ability to put things back as you found them...

Hope that helps
