Flashing orange light on mitsubishi 60737 - Mitsubishi WD-60737 60 in. HDTV

It is a known issue on this ancient technology. You need a new flatscreen!!

the green flashing light does not make sense if set is working.

As far as a dark picture if lamp not replaced or replaced with a generic it may be nearing the end of its life, many will dim just before failing.

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Suspect number one based on the model number listed here is the lamp.

Tv under a year old call Misubishi for a warrenty repair.Flashes staus light mean could be any these parts have problems power supply board,Ballast board or the pojection lamp itself.

i had the same problem and i called mitsubishi they said it is a software malfunction and they are sending me an update to install via flash drive. i am now awaiting the email
