Hi, I was just upgrading the firmware when the power to the house went out. I now seem to have lost all firmware. Is there any way to restore it using the PC?

If After Formatting Hard Drive for 1st Time Your Screen Goes Blank and after Cyclone Logo Screen has Loaded:
Press TV System Button on Remote Control a few Times , and you should be able to view the Menu Setup Screen and Adjust for Pal / ECT::
The Cyclone Sometimes Jumps to the High Definition Output Setting and you Need to Do this to Adjust the Output for your TV ect:

Hi,
Take out the hard drive.
Format it using fat32 either by usb connector or install it in a pc.
Put new firmware on the hard drive. do not put it into a folder.
Check player for a button battery if there is one installed remove it and leave out for about 10 minutes.
Replace the button battery, replace the hard drive and boot it up.

Drive should be formatted in FAT32. This is more preferrable than NTFS
Firmware for Cyclone is
_mpd1100_ (do not rename)
check google for cyclone firware upgrade to get latest firware file as named above
Drive needs to be blank.
Transfer extracted file to the disk
Use Setup -> Firmware Upgrade. Confirm after F/W compare.

Sorry to seem a bit thick here but how do i get the Cyclone to read the USB stick with the firmware onj it as there is no setup facility on the Cyclone box? i have the media centre box with Firmare _mpd1100_ (latest) all ready to go on .. cheers
Also, mine used to stick allot,, very unresponsive and thrustrating so i plugged the box into the laptop, took all the movies off it and formatted the 500GB HDD and then put 4 equal partitions on it and then transfered all my movies back onto the 1st partition (36GB worth) and it seems to work fine now ... i dont think it likes reading the 500GB as a whole drive but prefers smaller partitions - all i need now is to updatee the firmware - i have the .bin file (mpd1100 latest) on a USB pen drive but cant seem to find a setup option for the box to read from the USB to update the firmware ..any suggestions would be much appreciated
I think they all stick if you use a non compressed video format or use pause and fast forward alot. I play divx converted video from the start and it works every time. I know this is a limitation but its a great way to keep alot of stuff in one place that can be accessed quickly. I never had the problem you mentioned maybe it needs to see the whole drive formatted in fat32 with the firware file loaded before it will run setup. I never used a pen drive just usb to my computer

You will find that your PC has far more video codec support than your media player..
If your avi's are playing out of sync,I would recommend re-encode them using winavi etc...
I find BRRip to be the best media to play on these media players and never have audio sync issues...hope this helps
I have the same problem, I tried to update the firmware, the screen went blank, I left it for around half an hour and realised nothing was happening. Since then it won't return to the menu and just hangs on the logo screen. Any idea on how to reset the firmware? There is no battery to remove and no obvious jumpers to clear the settings.
Just bought a cyclone multi media player when i watch video playback through tv the audio is out of sync when play back though pc its ok can you help please ??
