I have a Magnavox HDTV/DVD combo. The problem is when you turn on the tv it shuts itself off and you have to unplug it and plug back in to get it on again. The power button doesn't work on the tv manually only with the remote the first time. Sometimes the picture will stay on but the sound will go off. You then have to unplug and plug in again to fix that. This can go on for 10 minutes before the tv stays on. The tv is only 7 months old. Any idea what the fix for this is?
The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Has anyone gotten a resolution for this the only answer I saw was the SSB Board. Is there a cheap place to get parts. Philips model 50P8341 goes off by itself also wont come back on if you unplug it for a while it will come back on.

When you say small do you mean shrunk up top and bottom as well as from side to side. You definitely have a deflection problem either horizontal or vertical. If the picture just shrunk top and bottom you have a vertical deflection problem. Do you have the service manual for your model? If not let me know and I will email you one. Describe the shrinking issue a little more and I should be able to give you some guidance.

I had the same problem. Check www.magnavoxhelp.com for instructions on how to fix it.

Mine was doing the same thing. Update the firmware and it fixes the problem. Updating the firmware is done by downloading the file to a thumb-drive from the phillips product support page then plugging in the drive into the side of your television and turning it on. See your manual for slightly better instructions.
