Wavy red lines or red pixelation, not sure what it is

Bought my Vizio 32-inch 10 months ago. Worked fine until now. Now where ever the background is white, there are red wavy lines or broken "waves" of red in white areas of the picture. It is annoying. It only shows up where there are white background scenes. I tried adjusting the colors but to no avail. What is causing this and is there a solution? I so annoyed that this is happening to a practically new flat screen TV.

Go to Vizio website and buy the extending warranty, you need to have your TV replaced since the problem is with the screen itself.

Just bought a vizio, the tv turns on real pixelated but fixes itself in 15 seoncds

If I have trouble with a brand new TV I always take it back and am sure to get another brand entirely. Personally I've had good luck with LG, SEIKI, and Samsung.

My problem is that with this monitor I have noticed that there is a red line that moves up and down the screen - in a random manner. I thought that the line only showed in the background but it also...

With this I would normally tell you that you have a dead pixel and you need to return the monitor to the supplier. But it is very strange that the line moves.

Hi andrew, its not a big problem.. Decent TV. but the pixels are DEAD. that means you have to recover them by fixing the LCD. this would cost you around £40-60 for a 32 inch TV. hope this helps!

Green screen with red and blue wavy lines

This is "NOT" meant as "expert" advice...as this is not my area...HOWEVER...I see no one has answered this yet...AND I got some good help from here a year or so ago that worked for me!

When I had a similar "green screen" problem with my SONY projection tv...the guy helped me by having me make "MINOR" adjustments to the red/blue/green etc knobs behind the panel. These were three small black plastic pieces and needed less than a 1/16 of an inch adjustment...try adjusting one at a time and giving it few seconds after each adjustment. It worked for me..at least for a while (till my wife gave it away to a friend because it was "too big"...ah! women!!! LOL)...hope this helps. (NON-expert help!)

My mom has 32 inch Sanyo vizio tv, er32647, she bought less than a year ago and now ion the lower left hand cirner there is a pink line that goes up the , about an inch long muy husband said it was a pixel...

Hello williskathy2,

This might be a problem with the circuitry of the screen driver. what happens is the one of the drivers in the display matrix IC goes bad and it can not fire that one string of LCD elements, and this creates the line that you see. Since the line is pink, I would say that the driver is incorrectly firing the string of LCD elements. I would suggest that if you have a background in electronics you check the voltage levels on the display driver IC and the connection to the screen. If you do not have a background in electronics I would suggest that you have a qualified TV technician fix your problem.

I hope this helps,

Red Pixels

First do the basics of checking all the settings in the menus. Call the tech support for your set to make sure that there is nothing that you have missed.

If the set is defective, this can be a processing fault where there is some aliasing. This can occure with interpolation errors or loss of data.
