The first way is uncheck the songs you want to delete on iTunes and then sync iTunes with ipod again, then the songs you want to delete will lose from iPod.

The second way is use leawo iTransfer to delete songs from iPod, the way is connect iPod to leawo iTransfer, then right click on the music you want to delete from iPod on leawo iTransfer to choose "Delete", then the music will be deleted soon. However, this tool can only work on Windows computer.

Though many iPod users don't want to use iTunes, they'll admit iTunes is the easiest way to manage iPod media files. If you want to delete songs from iPod, you can take fully advantage of iTunes. After you purchased songs in iTunes Store on iPod, your iTunes will also save the purchase history, so you don't have to worry about losing the purchased music files. When you connect iPod to computer with USB cable, iTunes will launch automatically and recognize your device. You can create a new playlist which contains only the music you need, and then sync it to your iPod. By doing this, you can remove the unwanted music from iPod.

Delete them in iTunes, then allow the iPod to update to the changes you've made in iTunes.
In iTunes: right-click the songs you would like to delete and choose Delete from the menu.
Well, for more iPod touch tips, could turn to this iPod Column: http://www.ifunia.com/iphone-column/index.html

Grays songs in ipod when connected to Computer

You need to set your iPod to update manually, instead of syncing automatically when you plug it into the computer.

To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, and on the iPod info screen that pops up in iTunes when your iPod is connected, click "Manually Manage Files."
You'll now have to click and drag your songs from your library to your iPod, but now you can also play songs on your computer directly from your iPod and delete songs from your library without deleting them from your iPod at the same time.

Hope this helped!

20GB IPOD

maybe...perhaps try changing your itunes setting

to
"manually update ipod" if it is set to autosync then all tunes in the library which are registered as being on the pod will automatically update. each time you connect the pod the itunes sw will update the pod from the library.

when the pod is connected and auto sync is active if you delete a tune from the lib it will update the pod and delete the same tune.

I pod

Hi,

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple.

Delete all the music youve just put on there. Then download iTunes, add all your music to its library then plug your ipod in, it will then sync automatically.

Hope that helps.
