Depending on the condition of the oven, it could take up to 4 hours.

I ran the auto self clean on my oven last week for the first time and it set automatically for 3 1/2 hours. (It stunk, but it worked.)

A couple things to remember is: (1) Make sure you do not turn the light on inside the oven. The clean cycle should disable it. (2) Lock the door if it does not lock itself. (3) Do not open the door during the clean cycle.

Remember the self cleaning temperature is extremely high. Do not allow children in the area while doing it.

My jenn air wall oven will not begin the self cleaning process. I've followed the directions in the owner manual. The process stops after I close the oven door. The door is not locking

good don't use it,more ovens get damaged when the self clean feature is used, the oven gets up to 1000 degrees and the heat can damage the electronics in the oven, after seeing all the ovens that get damaged i tell customers not to use it use easy off instead,i will never self clean an oven again, one more thing if you do get it to work don't use it before the holidays use it after just in case something does happen you might not be able to get any parts in time to repair it till after the holidays, usually it takes out the clock assy. and this isn't just a clock that's a computer board built in with the clock and this runs the oven,a lady self cleaned her oven the day before thanksgiving and her oven is old, they don't make the clock assy. anymore and she couldn't get a new oven in time either so this could be a blessing for you.if the oven works leave it alone and clean it after the holidays,if you want to fix it write back in but you need to send the model number off of the oven.good luck.

No power on stove after using self clean oven door is locked and cant be open is there a braker swith somewhere

A self cleaning oven that won't open after the self cleaning cycle is usually the oven has not had time to cool down from the high temperatures of cleaning. You should wait at least an hour to open it. You can also try to unplug the unit or turn of the breaker to the over for at least five minutes. You will then have to reset the clock and then try to move the door lock. If that does not work, you can set the self clean cycle again for but only allow it to work for 15 minutes, then cancel the cycle and let the oven cool and then again try to move the door lock or open the door If that does not work, then the lock will have to be accessed and moved manually to open the door
Some ovens need the door to be manually unlatched before the controls are set to the off position before they can be unlocked.

Oven door will not unlock

Hello,, Some times this will happen after a self clean cycle if the timer did not finish the entire clean. Try to set the clock to start the self clean again then simply end the self clean. This should unlock the door. If the door remains locked. You may check the oven for an error code, or the door latch itself may need to be replaced. One other possible would be to turn off the power to the oven and try to let the oven control reset. leave the power off for about 15 minutes then turn the power back on. That will sometime work aswell. Good luck and feel free to call me if you need more help.

How to use self cleaning oven

  • When using the self-cleaning feature on your oven, the temperature within the oven rises to an extremely high temperature, usually around1000 degrees. The oven will remain at this temperature for a set periodof time, often from 1 to 3 hours.

  • Self-cleaning ovens differ from traditional ovens in that they require a timer to control the amount oftime that the self-cleaning feature operates. They also require extrathermostatic controls to control the extremely high temperatures.

  • While the mechanisms inside aself-cleaning oven are quite complex, the concept behind aself-cleaning oven is fairly straight forward. The extremely hightemperatures incinerate dirt and debris from your oven, thus cleaningit for future use.

  • Safety is very important when using yourself-cleaning feature. You must ensure that the oven door is completelyclosed while the self-cleaning cycle is running. 1000 degreetemperatures are obviously extremely dangerous. Self-cleaning ovenswill come equipped with a secure oven door latch for this reason.

  • The crucial door locking system isinitially engaged to signal that you are ready to use the self-cleaningfeature. When the oven reaches a certain temperature, the door locksystem will ensure that the oven door cannot be opened until the cycleis complete and the temperature has returned to a manageable level. The result is a clean oven without the use of harsh oven cleaners orabrasives.

Self cleaning lock handle does not unlock

Unplug power, wait one hower and plug cord back.

That should reset the oven, if it does not, the oven timer control is clearly defective and should be replaced , you find parts here.

Self cleaning frigidare oven FEF368CCTD

If this stove has knobs, Make sure the clock keeps time. If it doesn't you will have to manually turn this off. (DON"T FORGET OR LEAVE WHILE CLEANING) Make sure there are no large puddles of oil or grease on the bottom of the oven.If the oven is really dirty it may stink a little. Nothing but the racks can be in the oven.Press the lock button and slide the lock lever to lock the door. Set the stop time for 3 hours and turn the knob by the clock to auto. Turn the oven knob to clean. (MAY have to push to turn all the way to clean) It should start heating up. Let it finish and then cool down. It will not let you unlock or open the door until it is completely cool. Wipe out any remaining ash with a wet rag. ALL CLEAN!
