The .psd format will open only in Photoshop . Try saving a new file and reopening it if you still face the same problem then you need to reinstall Photoshop

I can't believe that my photo is lost now.

Hi,

You could try running a "chkdsk" scan overnight to repair any damaged data on your hard drive. Open "My Computer" and right click on the drive you have you photos stored upon. Select "Properties" from the menu. Click on the "Tool" tab of the box that comes up. Click on "Check" and scan your drive for errors. If you get a message that it needs to "Schedule" the scan say YES. Reboot your system when your don and leave it for the the time it needs to do the scan.

I hope that there are options for this.

You might try saving your psd file somewhere else, and try deleting it.

How to resolve the problem with psd file?

If the file is corrupted, there's nothing you can do short of finding another copy of the file.

Photoshop15 .psd file crashes on startup

I suggest the following which worked for me.
Open the Photoshop program folder and open the Plugins folder. Move all the plugins to a separate empty folder on your desktop. Be sure there are no files in the Plugins folder
Next restart Photoshop 2015. If it opens correctly replace the plugins, one by one, into the Photoshop Plugins folder and restart Photoshop 2015 after each individual replacement. When Photoshop 2015 stops starting correctly you have found the offending plugin(s).
After doing the above I found two plugins that caused my problem. Downloading updates for the offending programs that were created to solve Photoshop 2015 plugin problems and installing them solved the issues for me so I can use those plugins again.

Also I found this program Photoshop Fix Toolbox https://www.fixtoolbox.com/photoshopfix.html

Psd corrupted!!? (Layers Gone)

I don't think I've ever seen a PSD file corrupted on disk myself. Often it's a sign of system instability. Did you have a crash or power failure while it was saving (keeping in mind that it may appear to finish before it's actually all the way saved to disk)?

Are your disk hardware and file system healthy? Look in your event logs for any indications of failures.

Try some repair tool:
PSD Repair Kit is the ultimate Adobe PSD repair tool that is a must-have for any digital artist, photographer or other professional working with numerous PSD files.

Psd to jpg

You probably need to flatten the image to get it into a background layer only. Choose in menu: Layer/Flatten image then try to save your image.

If it didn't work, then most likely your image is in 16 bits/channel mode, change it to 8 bits/channel. Choose in menu: Image/Mode/8 bits/channel.
