first off we dont know what is towing car, nor its hitch wiring

but in most cases, you may need and adaptor, to convert simple

USA wiring to Euro type wiring.

there are 2 systems. that cant just be wired in willy nilly.

is this permanent? one tow , only

or for ever. we cant guess that.

if 1 tow ,why not use clamp on aux light bar and get it done

rent them at u-haul?

if perm, is need , get a pro shop to do this.

how to do this and not damage the cars , electronics that controls

lights can be very tricky.

the safest way is to have new connector installed to rear lights.

to the main harness, then you unplug the cars harness side

and then connect the tow bar new custom harness connector to the rear.

none of this is easy or simple.

Unless Bose offers a longer cable, which it doesn't sound like or they would suggest you buy one from them, your options are limited to splicing. Just make sure your connections are good and protected with electrical tape not duct tape or scotch tape. You can even use small wire nuts and electrical tape.

I AM WIREING PROBLEMS ALSO HAVING I KEEP BLOWING FUSE NUMBER 10 IS THIS WHY YOU ARE REWIRING THE DASH FROM SHORTING PROBLEMS AND BLOWING FUSES .I WAS WONDERING IF THE ELECTRICAL IS A PROBLEM IN THESE CARS

Yes, run a black wire from connector (a) to one terminal of your new light fitting if you are installing a metal fitting you will need to connect an earth wire also.

If you are reusing the same pull switch and it is still connected as you describe then the floating end near the light is probably the switched live conductor, so you could connect this to the live terminal of the new light. but be careful it may be live.

Caution always disconnect the power before working on electrical wiring.

Tail lights acting insane?

We had the same issue with our 2000 Pontiac Montana. Brake lights, turn signal lights, running lights, back-up lights and emergency flasher didn’t work at all or operated at random. The cause: poorly designed aluminum contacts on the tail light circuit board and wiring harness connector arced over and disintegrated with normal use.

Pull the tail lamp assembly, remove the electrical connector and look for burned contacts on the connector plug and the connector socket (they call this long plastic piece with the socket the circuit board: it includes the four bulb sockets. Replace the circuit board and the wiring connector.

You can DIY this job with basic auto mechanical/electrical skills and tools. The two circuit boards and the two connectors set me back $230 (2009 cost) for new parts. The electrical contacts on the factory replacement parts are improved.

I needed a T-30 torx driver to remove the tail light assembly (you need this to change out bulbs, too), wire cutters, wire strippers, electrical tape and an electrical lug crimper to do the job.

Mics are pretty cheap,best off buying a new one.
