Apple Inc.Nov 11, 2015 - And with AirPlay Mirroring, you can display your iOS screen on yourApple TV. ... For music: Apple TV, AirPort Express, or AirPlay-enabled speakers. ...iPhone 5 or later; iPad mini or iPad (4th generation or later); iPod touch ...
Without know what you are wanting to connect by airplay, it is difficult to provide specific instructions. But essentially, the device you want to connect to via Airplay must be "Airplay" compatible in order for it to receive a signal from your iOS/Apple product. If it is, then you'll select the Airplay icon on your Apple product, which will bring up the menu of Airplay devices in the vicinity. You'll then select the device you want to use from this Airplay menu.
To use airplay, you must be on the same WiFi network as the speakers/Apple TV you would like to stream your multimedia to.
Once you're on the same WiFi network, open up an app (Music, for example) and select a song to be played. Once on the Now playing screen, at the bottom of the screen a little icon should appear that looks like this (http://www.applegoss.com/wp-content/uploads/airplay-logo.jpg) click on it and choose your AirPlay streaming device. The music should now play over the speakers you've selected. The protocol is extremely similar for all other applications and videos.
My iPhone has a button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen (next to the volume control), that gives me the option to listen on the phone or to have it run on the Harman Kardon airplay. It automatically turned on the receiver and played the sound of the video in surround sound. It looks like a rectangle with a triangle at the bottom of it.
I have the same problem, it seems the airplay connection is easily lost, it never plays for longer than an hour without itunes losing the receiver, then i have to reset the receiver so that it appears in itunes again, very annoying. I spoke to Yamaha and they are not aware of any issues but clearly there is one. A quick workaround is to bring the receiver up in a browser by typing in its IP address, go to IP Address tab and simply apply without changing anything, this causes the receiver to initialize its network function as you will see the amp resetting and it will then appear in iTunes. This doesn't work through the units setup without changing settings and then changing them back again. Hopefully this is just a glitch that will Yamaha will fix in the next firmware update, I am running 1.14 update.
Hi there,
I haven't had this issue on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5. However, I do click my lock after the video starts playing. Have you tried this? Perhaps locking yourself rather than letting the phone may be an easy fix.
Hope this helps! If not please advise which iPhone and os version.
Did you find a solution to the problem. I have the same problem
