It was supposed to be in Fat and not in Fat32. Now the mp3 doesnt function. Windows doesnt give me the option of Fat. What can I do to format the mp3 to Fat? Please help me..Thank you!

Windows only formats in fat32 or ntfs, only Win95 or 98 formats in fat, so you may have to go to the manufacturer web site and look for a formatting programme. Otherwise, there may be a factory reset or similair on the mp3 player, select this and everyting should be deleted.

Space on device.

If this problem occurs then your ML648B needs to be formatted.

1. Connect your ML648B to your computer with Windows XP or later.
2. By default your computer will recognize ML648B as GPX MTP Device. Press the POWER button from top of your ML648B, to change it to USB mode connection. You will also see USB on the screen of ML648B.
3. ML648B will now mount 2 drives, one as Tools (as CD-Drive) and second as Removable Disk (Drive) – under My Computer on your Windows Desktop.
4. Right click your mouse and then select the Format option. When the Format Removable Disk window appears select the Start button to start formatting your MP3 player.

THIS FOR SURE HELP!!!!!!!Hi...I find the answer...Push and hold rec button and button for holding...And it will start..if your mp3 (a samsung yp-u3 mp3) says log val=0x10008018 or something, click and hold the record button and once it begins to record, press the back arrow/button (symbol in the top right corner). your mp3 should work (play music and such) now. to fix your mp3 and get rid of that log val message, you need to go to settings, then system, then format. format your mp3. unfortunately this will delete all your songs and files on the mp3, but the mp3 player should be fixed and the log val message wont appear anymore.

hope this helped..

Boot error, shutting down

I got the same problem.
First the player wasnt recognized by any computer so I was stuck with the song inside them.
So I formated the disk and all suposly was fine, when i started the player I got a messar

boot error, shutting down

The trick was that when I formated the player, it has to be in Fat 32 with 4096 bites
(to format it by the way, conect the player to the pc, go to my computer, select the player, right click, and select format with the spects fat32 and 4096 bytes)

Then reinstal the firmware included in the cd.

this solved my problem and im very, very happy to have my player working again. I love my player!!!.
