Computer crashed and upon start up it states that it is missing a DLL image file and will not bring up anything

Your dell could have been attacked by a virus or malware, and it went on to replace some system files. your options are, to reinstall the operating system, my guess is you are using windows, so reinstall windows, whether xp, vista or 7, login in using service directory repair mode, that is, by pressing F8 after the dell splash screen has displayed upon powering the computer, and selecting that choice. once logged in, perform virus scan if you have a good antivirus. meanwhile copy your important files and documents to a removable drive. if the antivirus manages to clean out the virus. you can reboot in a normal mode.
the second option is to use a live cd if you have ever heard of one, boot your computer using the live cd, some common ones are hiren's boot cd, multi-boot recovery cd and any other that you might across. once logged in, copy your importnt files and documents into a removable drive and format your computer and perfom a clean installation, this time do not forget to purchase an antivirus and install, kaspersky is fairly good, for some free options, avast is a good option. then scan your removable drive and clean it for viruses before recovering your documents

I have an ACER X3910 desk top. Had sound then no sound after a couple of weeks. Is there a sound card problem ? This is a new computer. What do you think ? Jerry

Well the first thing that came to mind was a trojan or virus, but then why would hackers care to waste their time just to disable your sound? Is the computer muted for some strange reason? Other than that I don't think there's any real problem with your computer. I know I've had this happen once with my Gateway MX6455 laptop. It runs with a Conexant HD audio driver. I turned it on upon startup and heard nothing. But about maybe 20 minutes later the sound was working. Maybe the sound card's process hasn't run yet. Perhaps give your PC a bit more time on its own and try the sound out then. Search a Youtube video or something and test it.

The programs in my computer have been deleted. Does it mean the computer has a virus?

Could be virus, or your hard drive is going bad. Click Start, Run, type chkdsk.exe, and tell it to run upon next reboot. That will give you an idea about the hard drive. If no errors, then run a full system scan with your Anit Virus. Update it first.

In regards to removing the virus when you did the factory restor did you actually to the restore of the restore partition on the hard drive or from restore disks. If it was from the restort partition it is possible that the virus spread to that drive.

If you have access to another computer then I would connect the drive to other computer and try to scan the drive.

The reason for this if Windows thinks the virus is a system file the removal program can not remove it if Windows is running. So connecting it to another computer allows you to fully clean the hard drive. However with alot of viruses at this level will cause you to have to do a clean reinstall of Windows any ways. So you may have to look using your restore disks any ways to get a clean reinstall of Windows.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Format all your hard drive and do a clean install, One tip though, how to avoid Virus attack is not letting the virus to your system, how? for example, a virus came from your USB drive, it won't attack your system if you cancel all the autorun pop ups when you insert the usb drive and do not double click on it, double clicking on USB triggers the Autoplay and virus spreads out like a pandoras box, If you get what I mean it could save you from virus.

Install a good Anti Virus of your choice and always update the virus definition in order for you to be fully protected and be very careful on clicking links on some websites, anti virus has a feature that knows if a website has a potential virus or not, use it.

Hey sori ive lost my sounds system on my computers

Friend there are several possibillities to this problem and we'll discuss it one by one.
The first possible problem is that your operating system might be damaged by a virus that is why your sound system doesn't work. The solution for this problem is to have an updated anti-virus program on your computer and clean your computer with this anti-virus program. After you have done this procedure, you have to install a software that is compatible with your sound system or if you have a sound card on your computer use the software that is packaged along with your purchased sound card have it installed. After doing this procedure try to connect your sound system to the output of your computer usually there are holes or terminal in your computer that is exactly suitable to your sound system's jack and make sure that you connect to the output line. If this doesn't work install a media player to your computer and repeat those procedures mentioned above. In installing those software it is easy just follow the instructions and read carefully the images and characters presented by your computer screen.
Thanks! I hope i've solved your problem
