E61 means you have the neutral and the L2 wire either reversed or in the wrong position. ENTER TEST MODE SEQUENCE by doing the following . 1.Disconnect thepower for 30 seconds.2.Reconnect the power and within 30 seconds press the sequence of buttons listed below.3.Press the "SIGNAL"button.4.Press the "DELAY START"button.5.Press the "SIGNAL"button.6.Press the "DELAY START"button. Now after you have fixed the reveresed wiring problem you will need to remove the fault code fromt he memory otherwise the machine will not work. To remove the fault code do the following ENTER TEST MODE
SEQUENCE (cont.)
You will notice "t01". To choose the test mode that you want toverify, turn the knob to the desired test mode setting.
Push the start/pause button. To cancel the test mode, press on "power".
You will be able to choose another test mode and again press on "start/pause".
The display error codes test allows the service technician to examine and clear the fault log.
DISPLAY ERROR CODES TEST
(t02)
The display error codes test allows the service technician to examine and clear the fault log.
The control shall display the most recent error in the fault logupon entry into the display error codes test. If there are no errors in the fault log, the no error code “E00”shall be displayed on the 7-segment display.
The control shall clear the displayed error from the fault log if the start key is pressed during the display error codes test. After clearing thedisplayed error from the fault log, the appliance shall display the next most recent error from the fault log.
After clearing all errors from the fault log, the control shall display the no error “E00”code on the 7-segment display.
The control shall log the last 8 error codes in the non-volatile memory stored in a circular list.
The control shall avoid logging multiple instances of the same error code. now unplug the appliance for about 30 seconds and replug and everything should be fine

I cant remember what e61 stands for off the top of my head but if u unplug the dryer take the top off you should find the tech sheet in it and it will have a list of error codes and faults if u find that write back with what e61 means if im not mistaken and i might be off of memory i think it had something to do with the control board

Customer received an E-61 error code from faulted (ground) door switch. Noted harness was disconnected at 3 wires! If you have a "Grounded Fault" with power and you "fix" the switch and power again, with the existing non-connected wiring harness. You are almost certain to have the NEW ground go through your control board! Guess what? They typically do not handle ANY surged electrical load (not on dryers, washers etc...) Folks, these are NOT military (the highest) or Hospital grade electronics. They have an impedance toleration that is VERY limited. Any unsecured ground going through the Machine's main board is almost definitely fried or it becomes the ground and needs to be replaced! Ebay maybe you can get one for $2-300 dollars. Manufacture would want top dollar up to an including installing it around $700! Buy another machine.

I have a GE dryer and it's reading the code E61 what does that mean

For GE dryers, the E61 code indicates a problem with the wiring or the control board. The dryer is sensing the wrong voltage between the hot and neutral lines of the incoming wiring. First check your wiring/fuses/circuit breakers. If your wiring is OK, then the control board is probably faulty.

If you post a comment with the model, I may be able to point you to the appropriate parts. I hope this helps.

How to fix frigidiaire dryer error code 61

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are receiving an E61 error code on your Frigidaire dryer and want to know how to fix it. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Electrolux

Hello Curtis - Typically, error code E61 indicates a Heater Relay failure. At first the heater was grounded, and now possibly the heater relay. When the heater grounded it could have shorted the relay as well. Generally it is a good idea to have a professional take a look at it to get to the root cause. Cost of parts and technical expertise entailed in these types of replacements can be a bit tricky.

Error code e61

Identification
  • GE dryers use three-character codes that display on LCD screens. Every code starts with "E" and is followed by a two-digit number.
Power Failure
  • When your home loses power, the "E01" error flashes on the screen. Reset the dryer memory by unplugging the device, waiting 30 seconds and plugging it back in. The error code will disappear.
Thermistor Errors
  • Errors "E02," "E03," "E04" and "E05" are thermistor errors. The thermistor, when operating properly, reads the temperature of the dryer. Errors E02 through E05 indicate the thermistor must be replaced.
Effects
  • When there is an error with the door switch and sensor, the "E60" error code will appear. An unbalanced door will produce the E60 code. Try to close the door gently and listen for the click. If the error remains, the door switch may need to be replaced.
Control Board Errors The control board sends signals from the controls to the dryer. When this fails, errors "E61," "E80" and "E81" appear. Contact GE service or install a new control board for the dryer
