Scooter charger not working

Charger fan was noisy, then sluggish, then stopped. Charger now not working at all. Have refitted fan to charger chassis as it had worked loose. Power light on but status light out. Fuse intact. No obvious loose or faulty connections to charger components or circuit board. Any ideas?

Check the charger voltage. It should be 29 volts when not connected to the scooter. Anything less is a component gone bad on the circuit board.

SOURCE: scooter is running slow

Have the batteries tested with a load tester. Usually when it starts to move slow it means the batteries are going.

SOURCE: battery charger indicating that batteries

With a Pride Scooter the charger will turn green if its fully charged and if there is a bad connection in the wiring with the batteries. If you plug in the charger and the light comes on green right away then there is a problem with the wiring or connections. Take a voltmeter and read the voltage at each battery. Fully charged they should be 13-15 volts each. If they are less than 12 volts then they are not charged and the charger is not working correctly. If the batteries are really low like less than 8 volts each then the scooter might not come on at all. If you find that the batteries have at least 12 volts or more then there is a wiring problem from the rear of the scooter to the front tiller. Pride has a habit of developing problems in the harness running from the rear to the tiller. My suggestion is to contact your provider (where you got the scooter) and have them troubleshoot the scooter. If the scooter is less than a year old then it should be under warranty and your provider will have to fix it under warranty. Sorry I don't have a quick fix for you but scooters are notoriously bad to troubleshoot and repair, especially long distance. Hope this helps you

Why my kymco scooter engine stopped running after coming to a stop.

You have either run out of fuel, a fuse has blown, or and most likely the battery on your scooter has died. Most batteries nowadays last between 2 and 3 years then they just give up the ghost. Do not bother trying to charge it. Get a new one make sure it is filled correctly and put it on charge. Donot use a car charger only use a dedicated charger for motorcycle batteries max output 1 amp.

When you remove a battery undo the negative lead first, when you refit a battery connect the positive lead first.

Please be aware: -
Never try to jump start from another vehicle you will fry the battery and possible the whole electrical system.

I just bought a new battery charger cable called (Sealed Lead-Acid Charger) to replace an older (Lead Acid battery charger). The New Battery charger will charge for about 2 to 5 minutes and then stop...

ismail the charger you bought should do the job. By stop charging do you mean the light on the charger turns from yellow to green? Your scooter has small batteries 12/12 and don't require along period of charging. Now the scooter has a heat sensor for the batteries and will cut off charging when temp of the batteries gets too high. The older charger could have overcharged your batteries and made them weaker instead of stronger. I would suggest you replace the batteries (2 12/12AH) and charge them with the new charger. Remember to reinstall the heat sensors on each battery when replacing. If you have a digital voltmeter set it to 200 v dc and put the leads into the 2 outer plugs in the charger port on the battery pack. You should read 24-26 volts dc when the batteries are fully charged anything less would mean weak batteries. Hope this helps you

Scooter dash lights flash up and down .were normaly they come on and stay at top .they just constantly run up and down ..batteries show on charger in boot .that its fully charged

Hi. Some scooters will show a pattern like this while the charger is operating, but when the charger is turned off it should stop. Some internal chargers have a relay that is activated while the charger is on to disable the scooter. Does the scooter operate properly after the charger is turned off? If not, then unplug the charger where it connects to the batteries inside the scooter and see if this helps. If this helps, you might need a new charger.
Good luck. Neil.

Scooter batteries will not charge. Green light on charger comes on briefly and fan tarts momentarily. Does green/yellow flash mean disconnection as indicated on the charger?

ok, this could be a dodgy connection with the batteries or the charger is at fault ?

1. try another charger
2. check the batteries if possible on another scooter.

3. check the connection on the battery and the charge socket connector.
