I bought a new freezer and the direction tell me I can set my temps at 15 degree and lower to -15 but it doesn't mention setting above 15 degrees.Can I set the temp at 20 or higher safely ??
You should be able to set the unit up to 30?F and still freeze some contents.

This could be normal for the summer. This is the right temp to keep it at. Some units are meant to run 80 - 90 % of the time. Turn it all the way up and check the temp. Most units when working properly can get below 0. Check the condensor underneath for dirt and to see if the fan is running under there. (smaller units don't have anything underneath) Some have coils in the rear and the smallest units just use the sides of the cabinet to disperse the heat. Check the gasket see if its sealing properly or maybe the door is warped and not closing at the bottom.

Since this is a new freezer it should be serviced by the people who sold it to you in order to avoid any warranty conflict. The fan blades of these units are of a slip fit onto the motor shaft. It is possible that the fan blade has come off the motor shaft.

check to see if there is ice built up on the inside back if there is it may have defrost problems or if part of the back has ice it may be low of freon
