A small kid pressed some button and since then the problem raised. we Don't know what he pressed. Detatched all the plug-ins and attached once again. Tried pressing all the buttons Checked the adapter too but of no use. Can you please let me know what can be done in this case. Thanks & Regards Udaya

You need to reregister the handset to the base. To do so, you push the mute button on the base, and the light will flash. At the handset push menu, then scroll to registration, select registration and push OK. Handset should say registering and after a few seconds it will find the base and automatically give it the next intercom number.

You might try unplugging the base AND removing the batteries from the handset for 30 minutes. Then reinsert the batteries, place the handset in the cradle in the base, and then plug the base back in. This might allow the handset and the base to re-sync with each other.

Some times when we answer the phone we get the dial tones and don't the party that is calling

Move the handset closer to the base. The operating range may vary with environmental conditions and time of use. There may be places within your environment that a cordless phone will not work well. If the problem only occurs in certain areas of your environment, you can conclude that there is nothing wrong with the phone.

Boost Your Cell Phone Signal

This free do-it-yourself (diy) tip sheet reveals surprisingly simple tricks to try in order to increase your cell phone signal when you are on a call and without the use of any so-called cell phone "boosting" device. By learning these simple techniques and tips, you will be able to significantly increase your cell phone's signal strength naturally, without any device. So, next time you make a call, make sure you observe the following tips and tricks:
  • Hands-off!: Make sure you never put your finger near or on the antenna. If you don't know where the antenna is, it is probably on top of your phone so it's a good idea to hold your phone by the base, not the top. The idea here is that anything to obstructs cellular waves decreases your phone's performance, including anything as small as your finger.
  • Turn Your Body: If your interlocutor's voice breaks during a call, try to turn around until it improves. You don't know where the base station antenna from your carrier is located and your head may be right in the way. Rotate your whole body so that your phone points to a different direction until you find the best position, then don't move.
  • Avoid Metal: Move away from any piece of metal, especially massive steel structures. They usually interfere with cellular waves.
  • Power Up!: Always keep your battery as charged as possible. Some cell phones (and maybe yours do) will weaken their signal strength when the battery is low to increase talk time.
  • Look For Windows: If you are in a building, move towards a window: the less obstruction the better.[br]- When driving your car, place the phone on the window side, it may help.[br]- When walking outside, move to an open spot rather than stay close to building or in the woods.
  • Hide!: On rare occasions, you can use a huge concrete building or structure to hide yourself from a specific base station antenna that may be defective, so that your cell phone sees another, more remote base station which works better. This is unlikely but it sometimes happens.
Thank You!

No link to base

It sounds like you may be getting interferance from somewhere. Try moving the base unit to another location. Avoid putting by other electronics. T.V.s, microwaves, and such can mess with the signals. Hope this helps Good Luck!

Hand set out of range disply is on. How do I reset.

here are some tips from my manual for out of range problems
hope they help
• Only one handset can be used to make or answer a call anytime.
If another handset attempt to do so, the screen will display OTHER
HANDSET ON and then OR OUT OF RANGE. You might press PHONE
or SPEAKER again until no other handset is using the line. Use the call
transfer feature to transfer a call to another system handset
or use the speakerphone feature so multiple members of your
house can be on an active call at the same time.
• Move the cordless handset closer to the base. You might have moved
out of range.
• Ensure that the base is powered up.
• Place the cordless handset in base cradle for 1 minute to allow the
cordless handset and base to resynchronize channels.
• If the cordless handset is in its base and the charging light does not
come on, refer to the charge light is off in troubleshooting guide.
• Reset the base. Unplug the unit’s electrical power. Wait for 15 seconds
then plug it back in. Allow up to one minute for the cordless handset
and base to reset.
• Other electronic products can cause interference with your cordless
phone. Try installing your phone as far away from these types of elec
tronic devices as possible: wireless routers, radios, radio towers, page
towers, cell phones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, personal
computers, kitchen appliances and cordless phones.

TOO FAR FROM BASE

Hi! This may cure your problem!
Re-registering the handset
If “No link to base. Move closer
to base, try again.
” is displayed
even when the handset is near the base
unit, you may need to re-register the
handset to the base unit.
Important:
LMake sure the base unit is not being
used.
LHave the handset and base unit near
each other when re-registering the
handset.
LKX-TG5422 and KX-TG5423 only:
Confirm the extension number of the
handset which has lost its link to the
base by placing the handset on the base
unit or charger.
If you accidentally assign another
handset’s extension number to it, the
other extension will stop functioning.
1 Handset:
Press {MENU}.
2 Scroll to “Initial setting” by
pressing {V} or {^}, then press {>}.
3 Scroll to “Registration” by pressing
{V} or {^}, then press {>}.
4 KX-TG5421 base unit:
Press and hold {HANDSET
LOCATOR
} until the CHARGE
indicator flashes.
KX-TG5422 base unit:
Press and hold the handset locator
button that corresponds to the handset
you want to re-register ({HANDSET
LOCATOR
1} or {HANDSET

Panasonic phone

1st) you must identify the ranking order of your handset. Put all your handsets in the main base cradle and it will tell you which phone is your handset ie: (1) (2) (3) (4). (if you are reseting a handset, chose a number that is missing to reset your phone to) Now, with NO handsets in the main base cradle. Hold your phone and press "menu", then key in the numbers 00. Now, don't do anything with your handset just now. Go to the main base cradle. On the bottom, where it says"locator" press the select button until you get the desired phone rank needed. H1,H2,H3 etc... Now, press and hold "call". (The charging light should start flashing) Now, on your handset press the "OK" button on the top upper right corner. Your phone should now be working! If you are still having problems, call Panasonic Customer Service at 1-800-211-7262 for tech support.

Lots of static & noise during calls

First, do you have any other phones? Have you eliminated the phone line itself as the problem?

If there are sound problems in multiple cordless phones and the problem is not in the wiring or the line, than the base unit is transmitting a poor quality signal. Try tapping the base unit to see if the problem changes any... light taps up to a typical knocking on a door strength taps are all that should be necessary.

No Link to Base

to re-register the phone, hold down the "handset locator" button on the base untill he "charge" light flashes. then, on the phone, hold down the flash/call waiting button until the LCD screen says "handset registering." if after it registers it says "error!!!" then retry. that is what it says in the instructional booklet, but i have not done this successfully. mine keeps saying error.
