Xacti VPC-HD1000 "Problem with SD card" "FORMAT / FULL FORMAT"

I have a problem:

I just bought a Xacti 1000 and a 16GoB SD(HC) card (Class 6, from Apacer).
When I first powered my cam with the card in it, and selector on CAM, I read the message "Format / FULL FORMAT", and the cam said ("problem with the SD card", with a woman's voice...!).

I tried a few things:
- tried to re format the card with the cam: the process stopped 2h30 latter with the batt low level... (2 times),
- put the card in a computer: but it was not even detected;
- tried another PC wich could see the card and formated it in a 1 partition FAT32 format (as specified in the manual),

Nothing worked! then I tried another card (1Gb Scandisk SD card):
-same screen on Xacti: "FORMAT / FULL FORMAT"
-formating with Xacti didn t succed either....

Given that I saw this cam working (the seller demontrated the cam right when I bought it!), I assume it should work and I am doing something wrong, or I should do something that I DON'T know!!!

HELP!

;)

What was the speed of the second card? Scandisk are good cards. I think that the only important difference between cards is the speed.
>the process stopped 2h30 latter with the batt low level... (2 times),
You could try formatting with the camera in connected to the recharging shoe thing.

I have the same problem with a 1GB card because I shot the "Full Format". and now I must buy another one. For now on you must press the "Format" key not the "Full format". Is a problem with this "full format" I think.

Apparently you can take the LCD apart, look at the part number and order it online somewhere.

I have the VPC-S600. My husband accindently formatted the SD card with photos on it. Can I recover the pictures?? They are extremely important??? The Sd card is a Polaroid 2GB by PNY Please help????

Once the card is formatted, all is gone. A computer has a sector of the hard drive that "format" doesn't touch but portable storage devices don't have that protection.

"Format the card" appears in the screen and I can do nothing! "Format" or "Full Format", but nothing helps

Have you actually tried to format the card in the camera and you still get these messages?

Can't get started

Could it be that the SD card is not fast enough? I think that SD 40x or SDHC class 6 is needed from my experience (I am not sure what it says in the manual). What speed/class is the card you are using? I get these sort of problems intermittently on my HD2 (the predcessor to the HD1000) when I use a slower card.

I've downloaded my first video files from my Sanyo VPC HD1000 Xacti but all I get is a green screen that plays audio but not video. I'm using Mac os x Tiger.

In my opinion,it is due to you haven't choose the right video format.
Video Download Studio can help you with this very well.
get a free trial from http://www.downloadvideos-convert.com/download-videos-music

Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1- doesn't do anything in record mode

As I have been writing on other HD1/2 problems, sometimes it can be the card which is an issue. If the card is too slow or perhaps corrupted then the device can find it difficult to record.

This and other soft faults (that are reperable by turning the power on and off, changing or reinserting the card, removing the battery) are often indicated by a flashing red recording light.

SD card won't format

Did you update the Firmware of the camera? The VPC-C6 can read and write to SDHC memory cards up to 4GB but it would require to have the latest Firmware being installed on the camera. Firmware can be downloaded via http://www.sanyo-dsc.com/english/support/updata/vpc_c6/index.html
