If you are going to open the camera and solder the switch, then you should be able to replace it. The problem may also be with the card cover. The extension on the cover that contacts the switch may be worn and not fully depressing the switch.

How do i install software to upload photos from my olympus c-4000 camera

One way to transfer photos from your Olympus c-4000 camera to your computer without installing any software is to remove the memory card from the camera and plug it into a card reader on your computer. The pictures on your camera will be shown in windows explorer as a removable storage device.

If you don't have a card reader connected or built-in to your computer for your memory card type, then try connecting your camera with the usb cable, and your pictures will show up in windows explorer as a removable storage device.

I have the Olympus C-4000 Zoom and am having difficulty getting into the panorama mode which I really need for business. What am I not doing right.? Johnston. Spain.

First of all you need to be sure you are using a memory card that is an Olympus card. If it is a non-Olympus card then the panorama option will be disabled to you.

Then go to Menu - Mode Menu - Camera tab - Panorama option and select right arrow. This should enable the panorama mode for the camera.

Hi! I have an older Olympus C-4000 Camedia Camera and am wondering if it's compatible with a 4 GB SanDisk SDHC memory card.

Unfortunately the only memory card that can be used in this camera is a smartmedia card. The largest smartmedia card available is a 128mb card.

Error Message

There is usually a small tongue on the card cover that engages either a switch or some other device to detect if the cover is open.
Check that it is not broken or that the sensor is not damaged etc.
Hope this helps...
