Hotpoint wt540 can't get filter out

What was the washer doing that made you attempt this repair? I would say you will need to replace the pump assembly now.

check the machine washes ok if it does not turn the drum on wash check the motor brushes if drum action is ok on wash check the drain pump for blockages

something has blocked the pump I susspect, turn off the machine!!! there should be a small cover or door at the base of the machine, have a baking tray and large towel ready to collect the water, open the pump cover place the tray as close as possible and if you have a small tube inside then remove the plug and drain the water to the tray.if its just the screw cap then unscrew the cap behind the cover anti clockwise, water may begin to empty so be ready to either screw the cap back in or replace the stopper as the water in the machine will fill the tray several times, when all the water is empty check the pump is clear by looking into the hole the water flowed from, remove any obstrustion ( if you have the tube you will also have a screw cap to access the pump filter) when obstuction is cleared, screw caps back in and put stopper in, switch the machine on and select a spin cycle,let it finish and end, this should sort it out.

Most likely a control board failure, you need a service tech to come out.

What ya need to do is use pliers on it since it defiently opens in the anti clockwise direction

Sounds like a timer switch malfunction.

You will probably need to clean the pump filter.
To access the pump filter,remove the lower plastic panel at front of washer, there you will see the filter, unscrew the cover anti-clockwise, remove filter and clean.
This should clear the fault.

It sounds like you still have a blockage either in the outlet hose itself or in he pump. If you know how to remove the outlet hose from the bottom of the machine but be aware a lot of water also might empty from the machine when you do this. If you use an object such as a pen and put it in the outlet hose no blockage it wll come out. Then gently feel around the pump opening for any objects. Finally gently spin the pump propellor to make sure it turns smoothly. Replace hose and test. Hope this helps.

Could be a sticking water level switch, which controls the water level, or a blockage in the hose to the switch, or a trapped or split hose to the switch. the hose in question is about 6mm in diam,and goes from the sump hose to the pressure switch,if u remove the hose from the preesure switch chamber, check for a blockage there, and blow down the hose to see if it is clear, u should hear the switch click if it is clear, if no click and hose is clear, then I wud say the switch is faulty.
