Dear!!!
Error : Hardware failure in port or attached device.

Solution :

1. Check to make sure the correct modem is selected in the dialer.
2. Make sure there are not multiple modems installed.
3. Uninstall and reinstall the modem.
4. Make sure that no other programs are using your modem. Fax software, Supervoice, etc...
5. Ctrl-Alt-Delete, if you see RNAAPP loaded,

6. Send to manufacturer?

I know this post is old but i had that problem and after searching a lot, finally i solve it by myself. go to device manager, modems, on your modem or mobile modem right click and click properties. now go to "advanced" tab now that field of extra initialization commands must be clear, if not, clear it. now you can connect without "error 692"

Im trying to use PDAnet with bluetooth I have the bluetooth card installed on my laptop tuning vista, and it has an error that says that I need to install the bluetooth software for the phone, and I've...

Make sure you have bluetooth on on both, and that you are connected via bluetooth to your computer.

Turn on pda net on your DI and enable bluetooth dun.

Now go to your bluetooth settings on your computer and double click on your device, a new service should pop up allowing you to enable dun/modem and select that.

right click on your di bluetooth connection on your computer and create a dial up modem.

select the generic bluetooth modem, not the pdanet modem.

Type 123 in the phone number and leave the username and password blank and click connect.

Now you can right click on your DI bluetooth icon on your computer and select connect to the modem connection you just created.

After using my DI as a modem over bluetooth there are a few things to consider.

1. yeah it works great.

2. Its a battery **** fest.

Constant 3g with constant bluetooth = constant battery draw.

I would still recommend using your pdanet via the usb cable, seeing as this will keep the battery level charged, as well as same speed!

How to set up you cell Phone to connect up to the Internet via USB Cable, IR,...

To set up you cell Phone to connect up to the Internet via USB Cable, IR, or Bluetooth
Go to the website of your phone's manufacturer. Find the support section and locate the modem driver for your phone. If you were provided with a driver disk along with your phone, copy the modem driver from the disk onto your computer. If you were provided an executable file (.exe), a file that runs an installation program, then skip ahead to the "Creating the Connection" portion of this tutorial.
Go into the phone's menu and activate the modem. Since activating the phone's modem function varies from phone to phone, consult your user's manual for instructions on activating the modem.
After the phone is set to function as a modem, connect the phone to the computer via the USB cable, Bluetooth or IR. You will receive notification from your computer that new "hardware was found." You will be asked if you would like your computer to find drivers for you phone automatically and you will also be given the option to specify the location of the driver. Choose to locate the driver and point the installation menu to the folder containing the driver.
Creating the Connection
Go to the "Start Menu" and open the "Control Panel." Once the "Control Panel" is open, click on the "Network" icon and, from there, select the option "Set up a Connection or Network."
Choose the option
Choose the option "Set up a Dial-up Connection."
You will be presented a list of different connection types, choose the option "Set up a Dial-up Connection." In the next window, enter #777 into the box labeled "Dial-up Phone Number." While the access number #777 works with most carriers, check with you carrier if you encounter access problems.
You do not need to enter a Username or Password unless directed by your wireless provider. Create a name for your connection and enter it in the box labeled "Connection Name."
In the Taskbar, right click on the connection icon and choose disconnect to end a session.
Click connect at the bottom of the menu. You should be authenticated and connected within a matter of seconds. If you need to re-establish a connection, your connection will appear in the "Network" menu inside of the "Control Panel."

HI Sir, My Samsung Corby F339 Mobule is not connect in my pc showing error 692 there was a hardware failure in the modem(or other connecting device) plz help me.....

This error usually comes when you use usb cable to connect the phone to pc . Please try to unplug the cable and plugin the USB cable to another port and try via pc suite to connect to internet. If still it is not working try to connect on another pc via same USB cable to phone. If you are getting the same error still then this means the USB cable is damaged then change the USB cable and you can connect to PC. If USB cable works with other pc then reinstall pc suite or try connecting by creating dial up connection.

Not able to access internet using samsung corby s-3653 as modem connection to pc

have you tried configuring your internet access through your samsung pc studio? if not, open your pc studio, connect your phone and create an internet access through internet connector and try to connect.
one way to check if you can connect to inet by using your phone as a modem, is, surfing the web first using your samsung corby's web browser.
if you can't connect or surf the web by phone browser, it means you still haven't configure your browser profiles to your network provider. ask the right configuration from your network and configure the browser profile first.

good luck..

hello,

Connect your modem to the phone line and test the modem.

Control Panel-->>Phones and Modems. Click icon. Tab Modem. Highlight your modem, and Click Properties--->>Diagnostics. Verify that everything is OK.

Then Start --->>All Programs -->>Accessories-->> Comunications ---Hyperterminal.

Enter a name for a bogus connection, Click OK
Enter your phone number and dial it. If Phone/Modem connection is OK, you shoul hear the busy signal.
Alternative:Run the Dell diagnostics.

If Modem connection is correct you must then create a dialup connection.
Hope it helps.
