No picture I get sound. No picture. It was working fine. Power went out. When power came back, no picture, just sound. - Had surge protector - Nothing else got affected - If reciever is bypassed I get picture just fine. Seems to be something wrong with the HDMI out port. Is that possible?

Unfortunately it sounds like the video board may be shot in the receiver. Surge protectors work at best only once in a while. Perhaps your surge protector has a connected equipment guarantee?

Its certainly possible there may be something wrong with the port itself but first, I would try swapping out the hdmi cable itself to rule that out. It may also be the video board in the receiver. Can you get video out by using RCA cables instead of HDMI? Maybe try that first.

I switched HDMI cables, didn't work. I tried RCA, also didnt work. My television does recognized that I have the HDMI port "plugged in" but is getting no picture sent to it. Not even the base BLUE screen that the reciever produces when there is no image.

My electric went off yesterday and when it went back on my tv wouldnt turn on it was working fine before the power cut we have changed the fuse but still nothing is there anyway i can reset it to make it...

you said you changed the fuse. (inside the tv)double check to see if its blown agian if not. keep it unplugged for about 20 minutes to reset the surge protector onboard . if you have done all that the fuse didnt protect your tv from the surge and it gone. IF ITS CONNECTED TO A SURGE PROTECTOR unplug it from that and plug directly into the wall TRY THAT FIRST let me know if this works.

Had a power surge through my house tv picture went out I think there is still sound but no picture anysuggestions

make sure to plug in all major electronics and appliances to a very nice surge protector. If you have tried the TV in other outlets that you know work, and it doesnt display anything. It is probably power supply.

Do you have the machine on a surge protector.???
For $20 you can protect you fax machine from hydro and phone line damage.....if you get a surge you lose a surge protector..NOT YOUR FAX MACHINE.

Olevia 37" no picture

check the TV power cord first., try to plug any other appliances on the same surge protector or outlet, like electric fan, electric iron., see if's work., if it does, probably the power supply of your TV is in trouble.

Wii worked fine yesterday. Will not power up

This is a common problem with the Wii. Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii. It happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc.

Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens. Power comes back on, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.

You need to reset the AC adapter to get the Wii to work again. There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

Sound doesn't work on television Worked fine yesterday but it isn't working today. I know the power went out briefly(few seconds) today.

Check a different input and all the connections to the TV to see if they are secure. After doing so and you still are getting no audio from all inputs then it means the audio processor failed. It was most likely caused by a power surge when the power went back on. This is fixed by replacing the main board. It is usually called a BU or AU board on Sony LCDs. Can be prevented in the future with a good surge protector or clean power surge filter.

Sound doesn't work on television. Worked fine yesterday and doesn't work today. I can hear sound from the cable box going to my surround sound, however nothing to the television. I know the power went...

Sounds like there was a power surge that caused the audio processor in the TV to go out. This is fixed by replacing the main board.

The power supply board in the TV should also be checked as that could have been damaged as well. These are usually the first to go out from a power surge. Get a good surge protector to help prevent this in the future.
