After depressing power button: LED turns green, as normal, but no image, nor any light at all, shows up on the screen. About every 12 seconds the monitor CLICKS as if its trying to start up again, then . 'the cycle' just continues to repeat without end. Any suggestions-anybody?

You can TRY to look for cold solder at the board esp popwer section.

The power supply section may be failed, or there may be a short on one of the boards causing the monitor to cycle through the protect mode.

The Capacitor on the Inverter Circuit Board has gone bad and needs to be replaced. That's it.

The inverter that turns on the back light may be bad - it's suppose to create the high voltage pulses to fire the CCFL back light lamps. Apparently the back light turns on after a few seconds however, it cannot stay on because the inverter might be bad. If you connect a known external CCFL lamp to the to the inverter output you can isolate the inverter.
