I have a Haier wine fridge that is not cooling. I typically keep it at 56-59 degrees, and noticed when I returned from my trip it was at 80 degrees (approx room temp). It did this once before about 2 years ago, but was overcooling at that point too. I unplugged it a few times, and after about 10 times over 5 days, it started working correctly. That is not working this time. When I plug it in, the display comes on showing 80 degrees, and about every 10 min, I hear it make a clicking sound. It is model # HVE043ABL. BD0062E0300 BS49Q0348What's your problem?

Mark, check to see if the fan is running in the freezer section. Common problem on these 596's trios. If the fan is running, you might have a defrost problem. If it isn't, your part number for the motor is 67002778. No fan, no cool upstairs...Catriver..post back.

This sounds like your fridge has a leak somewhere and it slowly discharged its refrigerant. the compressor can sustain damage when there is no refrigerant and often will hum and eventually fail. Sorry but you may need a new compressor - if you were going to replace the fridge soon anyway then i would go ahead, but a compressor and the labour to fit it etc may be cheaper than a new fridge - you need a refrigeration repair man/shop (if you can take the fridge to a repair shop it will always be cheaper than calling a guy to your house) Sorry i can't really help, but the symptoms are classic, if you are lucky then a technician may be able to fix the leak and restart the compressor, but not always if you want to try something yourself just try tapping the compressor smartly but not too hard with the end of a dry wooden or plastic stick or similar with the fridge plugged in. the compressor is the thing at the bottom in the back that looks a bit like a small fuel tank, should be right in the middle and will be the largest thing in there. Just be careful not to break any copper tubes or touch any wires. Sometimes a stuck compressor can be freed this way, but you will almost certainly still need the leak fixing and a refill of refrigerant. Sorry about the bad news :( Hope this helps :)

ALMOST DEFINATELY YOU WILL HAVE AN ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED AUGER(MOTOR)CONTROLLING THE AMOUNT OF CHILL ENTERING THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT. IF YOU SET THE FRIDGE TO MINIMUM AND LISTEN CAREFULLY, THERE SHOULD BE A SOUND INDICATING THE AUGER IS WORKING.( OPENING AND CLOSING THE FLAP). SET TEMP. TO MAX AND LISTEN. IF NOTHING, IT COULS BE A DEFECTIVE MOTOR OR FAULTY THERMISTOR(TEMP. PROBE).

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.

the defrost timer/ board is getting stuck in defrost and when you unplug it and plug it back in it resets the defrost timer/control board. you may need to replace the defrost timer/control board.
