Sounds like a bad battery or alternator, or it could have thrown the drive belt off. Check too see that the belt is still on and then charge the battery and see if it starts. If it starts, run for a while and dies again with no crank, it is most likely an alternator.

SOURCE: 2004 Nissan Maxima

it is a cable that links you transmision to the dashboard
i am not sure what the name of the cable is
but if you hold the start position and switch the gears to neutral it will start.

SOURCE: loud squealing noise

The noise is most likely the serpentine belt. Check it's condition and that of the belt tensioner. It sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the squealing noise u describe. As the belt warms up, it's getting a better 'grip' and the noise stops. Turning on the heat also turns on the a/c in newer cars, this added drag on the belt (one more component to turn, the a/c compressor) would explain why it happens when u turn on the heat. Is the belt original? If yes, it's time to change it, and check the belt tensioner to make sure it's doing it's job of keeping the belt snug on all the pulleys. Let me know how u make out.

SOURCE: Engine does not run smooth

Sounds like a fuel problem, Bad fuel pump relay of actual fuel pump check relay first may be working intermittently.( Replace relay first before going to pump). Good luck thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: Squealing noise

After your vehicle heats up, spray your belt with water. If it squeels, it's a belt. If not, it'll be a tensioner or pulley.

SOURCE: i have an 03 nissan altima engine makes loud clicking noise

1st check the the oil level and the vehicle's oil type.(owners manuel) 5w30-10w30
10w 30 is a thicker oil and could possibly be causing this.(Moves more freely through the engine heats the oil)

2004 Kia Amanti my key goes in the ignition and turns on click, makes a clicking sound but will not turn to the start position.

Question edited for clarity and typos.
Question moved to model category.

My first thought was a flat battery.

Then I had another thought because the key won't go to the last start position. If the vehicle is an automatic, the car thinks you are in Drive or Reverse. Get in the car, foot on the brake and rack through all the gears a couple of times and back to Park. Try again.

My Charging Warning System and Immobilizer indicator warning light is both on after my 2004 Kia Amanti is running and put in drive.

Was the battery unhooked recently, Alternator or battery could be faulty, you can check them with a digital meter. The Immobilizer light may go away after you adress the battry/charging fault.

My car is a 2004 kia amanti, not a nissan sentra. the alternator and drivebelt has got nothing to do with engine not turning over. the battery was checked out at a shop and it is o.k.

Lots of possibilities for a no start condition. Do you hear any type of noise (such as clicking, etc) when trying to start the car? If not, recheck all connections and fuses under the hood as well as inside the car. Is this an auto or manual transmission? If its manual check the switch on the clutch. It its auto it could be the neutral safety switch.
