SOURCE: Garmin GPS 12 seems to be a few hundred yards out!

Go into your device and pull up the setup section. There should be a selection that needs to be checked called WAAS. When that is selected your accuracy should be +- 3 meters if I remember correctly. At any rate it will be much more accurate.

SOURCE: Entering waypoints manually

Notice that when you pull up the MARKed coordinates the yellow cursor is on the N/S letter rather than the number. Since a number is impossible there it won't let you enter one.

Use the rocker to move to the popup screens directional arrows to move to the digit you want to change. This will be easiest with the the RIGHT arrow at first; once you see the cursor it will make sense. Note I am talking about the popup's RIGHT square and not the rocker's RIGHT direction.

I have a Garmin 250W. Is it possible to search and target a location by latitude and longitude rather than post code in France

Hello,

You can definitely route using co-ordinates, this search option can found under "Where To?" it may be located a couple of pages down so go through the pages to see "Co-Ordinates" from here you would be able to enter your latitude and longitude.

Hope this helps!

[email protected] have a garmin oregon 550 hand held GPS but my coordinats are differnd with garmin 72 hand held (the differend 2000 m East). we are in sri lanka and we are use the USR Grid. please...

Make sure the co-ordinates are in the same format on both GPS units. There is a difference between degrees and minutes vs decimal degrees.

If this fixes your problem, please come back and rate our solution. Thank you.

Does aby know if my Garmin 1310 can use OS grd references instead of longditute and latitude? If so how is it set up?

Unfortunately Garmin satnavs do not allow OS Grid References instead of Longitude and Latitude. However if you need to find the Longitude and Latitude of a point it can be done by going to http://www.gorissen.info/Pierre/maps/googleMapLocationv3.php Zoom in on the location you want and left click on it. The longitude and latitude will appear in a box to the right of the map. You need to set the co-ordinate system of the satnav to match the longitude and latitude format of the satnav. To do this touch Where to, Co-Ordinates, Format. Enter the co-ordinates and touch next. It's not an ideal solution but it might help you out if you're stuck.

We are going to Europe and using Camping Cheques Brochure but the GPS Coordinates are as such L49degrees 0'10"1:2degrees56'28" but my Garmin Sat Nav Coordinates only give me a choice of N,S,E,or W can you...

I would suggest that you go to a web site that will take those co-ordinates that you have, enter them and then get or have the program show you the other co-ordinates that you need and can use, Also you may want to check in the sub menu on the gps unit, sometimes some of them have the ability to switch to different co-ordinate system, but this is sometimes, not always. Hope this helps

I have already asked my question. My new garmin gps 60cx it is giving the wrong locationj coordinates. I was kicked off the chat. I would like my answer without having to pay a 2nd fee. please e-mail it...

It is probably giving co-ordinates in a different format. Go to setup and change the co-ordinates format to hddd.dddd and see if this solves your problem.

How do i insert a negative (-) deg co-ordinate into my nuvi 200

Positive Lat Lon coordinates are for the eastern and northern hemispheres respectively. If you have a negative coordinate, they indicate a location in the western or southern hemisphere.

To enter a Latitude coordinate of, for example, -31 degrees, you would enter 31 degrees, but specify S (for South) rather than N (for North)

Negative Lon coordinates would use W (for West) instead of E (for East)
