Blue bars across video

When trying to view video on the LCD, no sound can be heard and there are staggering blue bars across the screen. I thought there might be a problem with the tape I was using, but when I changed the tape the same thing happened. When trying to rewind or fast forward I would eventually receive a message asking me to press the "reset button." Can anyone help me? I'm in a terrible spot!

I have the same problem with my PV-GS14. You have to find the last spot you recorded in, pause it, then switch to record, and just record something for a couple of seconds. Switch back to playback, and it should be fine. Neonlaundry, I read your other posts, and it seems we both have the same problems. If you find a solution, please post it. Thnks.

Solution 2 was the answer, move the protection tab on the tape itself to allow recording and the playback is perfect!

The solution I found, in some tapes I have to move the "save protection" tap to the "allow recording" position, this solves the blues lines in my Panasonic PV-GS12 Hope it helps OliverSL

I really do not have a solution to the problem, but the exact same thing happened to my GS12. i waited for it to play with the blue streaks/ stripes accross the LCD then in a few secs, it resumed to regular, normal playing (with clear videos and sounds).

Laptop screen

You need "New Miracle Cure Wiper Cloth".

One wipe across you LCD screen, and it will look like,............well......................................a Hershey bar rubbed across it.

Check to see if you pulled the Video Cable loose, or damaged it.
Past this point replace the LCD screen.

PT-47WX, Blue streaks across the screen?

It is not a bulb. It is a picture tube. If there are thin blue lines across the entire screen, not just the edges, and the picture itself looks too blue, it means that the blue picture tube is being driven too hard. This could be because the blue screen voltage is too high, the boost voltage on the blue picture tube is too low, or the video output is leaky or shorted. If the picture has what looks like blue arcs and double images on one or more sides of the picture, it means that one of your convergence IC's has burned out and needs to be replaced. These are things that should be tested and serviced by a qualified tech, so allow an experienced tech to handle it for you.
