not valves but piston goes tdc same as on your vehicle. sorry but if you gotta ask this question get someone else to work on your stuff that knows what they are doing.
The Honda GX160 is a single-cylinder multipurpose engine, so it doesn't have a timing belt, fuel filter, or any other wires other than the single spark plug wire and a ground. I'm having the same trouble with my Honda GX160. Spark is good, compression feels a bit lacking though, I haven't measured it. I've heard that the carburetor might be the cause, either needing to be cleaned or replaced as a whole. Dunking it in CLR works wonders, and if that doesn't work, you could probably find a new carburetor pretty cheaply.
guys mainly the valve gets heated and gets expand so the valve clearance is adjusted . according to my studied knowledge the inlet valve clearance should be perfectly 0.5 mm and the exhaust port must be 0.6 to 0.7 mm. this the perfect tuning for the 2 wheelers . [ remember guys before you set valve clearance make sure that engine is fully cooled condition..... thankyou........................................................ ABHI ROCKRANGER
You may not need to replace the head but a new valve guide may be called for. That will require the proper tool for installing it, so it runs in line with the valve stem.
I have worked on many gx160 engines and have found that the most economical way to repair an engine with worn valves/guides is to replace the complete head with a clone usually available on ebay for around 60 bucks or so. A honda gx runs perfect with a new clone head. To repair the head properly you need special tools to cut/shape re-seat etc. Then when you consider the cost of honda parts and the chance of making an error, well even the best small engine mechanics make bad calls. However on the other hand, there is great pleasure in rebuilding an engine that has given you great service. Small engine parts/supply outlets like Rotary inc. sell valve guide cutter kit that comes with instructions. You should also use new valves and cut the valve seats.(another kit) If all you want is a great running motor, consider the clone head. Good Luck on your project.
