The same thing is happening to me kind of. I changed a bit about my version of vista and somehow I crossed paths for so many files and everything. I can't right click and select graphics properties anymore, it can't find the file, but if I search for the igfxcfg.exe (intel media accelerator) program windows finds it, and opens it. I have never moved this file and it worked fine until one day then it just stopped. Same for my e-security, video codecs for media player... Sometimes media player decides to work for a couple weeks then it quits out again... but when I plug in S Video and right click the background it activates my desktop clone and sends the video out everytime, I just cannot modify any of the settings without searching for that file. Even my saved schemes cant be found unless I manually locate them.

What is the model and make of video card this Acer model uses? Do you have the latest drivers installed? Do not rely on microsoft drivers or the acer drivers that came installed. Check the manufacturers web site to make sure the most recent driver for that graphic card model and OS are installed.

To get your Control pAnel back, you probably need to do a system restore.

How to connect acer aspire 5315 to LG led tv

Acer Aspire 5315 doesn't come with an HDMI port. So, you have the following options:
1. Use a VGA Cable to connect the PC to TV if the TV has PC-Input facility
2. Use an S-Video cable to the TV's S-Video-in port if the TV has it

3. Use and S-Video to HDMI converter if the TV has HDMI port
(http://www.amazon.com/Composite-S-video-Audio-HDMI-Converter/dp/B003NS0UUQ)
for audio, you can use 3.5mm to RCA (Red/White) connector to connect to TV's audio-in port.

How do I video chat with my webcam?

Use a chat software like MSN Messenger, Yahoo or Skype. Any of those should work fine for video chatting. Acer also has VCM which is a video confrence manager. Not quite sure how that particular software works, but a quick google search would reveal the process i'm sure. Hope this helps

2 of the usb ports on my acer 5315-2077 laptop have all of a sudden quit working. The last thing I did with the ports was try to hook up a usb hub. It did not work, but then my regular usb ports would...

try to reinstall the drivers for them and if that doens't work reinstall the os. It is what I did and it worked.
Hope it helps, remember to leave a rating :)

I'm trying to hokk up my old dell moniter,i brook the screen

Hello,

First, make sure that your old dell monitor is working. Also make sure that the VGA out-port on your laptop is also working (by using a known good screen on it first)

Connect the Dell screen onto the VGA port of the laptop, then use "FN and F6" to source to the Dell monitor as external unit. There should be a mini screen that pops up where you can choose the monitor with the FN F6 key combination.

Acer aspire 5315 usb an not be recognised ???

I checked to see what a modern port tester would cost; I don't have one since I retired some years ago. They are still too costly for occasional use; the least expensive I found was still $50 US. If you have an independent (privately owned) computer store near you, I'm pretty sure they will have one and while I was in business, that is the kind of thing I would do as a courtesy; it would take 5 minutes and perhaps bond a customer to you for the future.
