Poloaroid 42' LCD tv wont come on

I know this post was a long time ago but in case anyone has the same issue. I bought a TLX-04244B "as-is" for $150 with the same exact problem. Turn it on get to the polaroid screen for maybe half a second then it sounds like it's shorting out and shuts right down. I found the problem to be on the power supply there were actually 2 ??? (not sure of the part name, resistors maybe) that were so close together that they were actually touching. I separated those 2 turned it back on and been fine ever since. As far as Polaroid and warranties go, you must call Proview tv's warranty support line. These tv's are made by Proview Polaroid only licenses out their name to Proview, I would imagine that's because Proview's tv's are such junk they need to use another name to peddle their substandard chinese ****. Be prepared however, although your warranty says in home service they will tell you that you must ship it to their service center. They will supposedly pay the shipping costs but beware and please check out all the consumer reports about people sending in their tv's and never getting them back. They seem to just get the run around for months on end. If your tv is new enough I would highly recommend returning it to the retail store you purchased it from. I have 1 functional and 5 dead Polaroid tv's at this moment, I buy them broken they are easy to fix yourself but if you do not have the know how then stay away from these tv's because IF your tv lasts 1-yr you are lucky.

Well if you get a screen that shows the polaroid logo with a bright ble screen then goes to black...some q's to answer for me ....does the power indicator on the lower right front of the tv go red,stays blue,or goes out completly??
