Hitachi 55hds52 won't turn on

When the tv is plugged in nothing happens, the standby light won't come on, no sounds, nothing.  I recenlty took it of of its stand to adjust the position, but it wasn't dropped or anything like that.

Its a know fault with these sets - PDU's fail all time, look at avforums.co.uk

I think you have problems with the digital main PWB.

If the power PWB failed, turn off and change the pilot ligth to red.

hello coopa mark, usully it indicates on a powwer suplly problem.
some times its a bad capacitors

Try to turn it on and the standby light just flashes and nothing happens -tried turning all mains power off etc but nothing!

U check the power source?Take the tv aparts,check or replaced the power fuse,might get lucky.Not,than sorry,this tv can't be repair,without replacing electronic's componnents parts.Hire the same shop to do the repair.Ur tv power ICS inverter are dead.

Find and replace the following caps, Ec18, 19, 20 / 1000uf/16v,
Ec9, 10 / 1000uf/35v, Ec14, 25 / 470uf/35v should resolve the problem. You can get the caps at almost any electronics supply.
This is a common problem in this unit.

Standby/stereo light blinking no picture or sound
My picture would go out after several minutes but I still had sound. I took the rear cover off and blew all the dust off with compresed air.I did this for a few times over several days nothing happened.I also took off the rear circuit board that attaches to the tube with a round pin socket and blew that with compressed air and put it back on. The TV has now worked for two days without the picture going out. It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My TV is 9 years old.

No picture no sound
There are lights on the board about 8 you should look at which comes on and which stay on this by hitachi standards tells you what is wrong. Most of the time its convergence amps bad.
