Press cc and it states no cc info. How do I get it to work.
What is the video source? Some set-top boxes send a closed caption signal that doesn't match the TV's CC interpreter. For those devices, you need to enable the captions on the set-top box.
I know how to enable captions on one particular Dish satellite box. The steps will depend on if your TV is TV1 or TV2 connected to the box. If the TV is TV2, you need to set the box in Single mode (so both TVs are set to the same channel). This is done with the Mode button on the box itself (highlight Yes and click Select using the Dish remote when prompted to go to Single Mode). If the box is in Single Mode, you won't get a prompt but the unit will go to Dual mode. There is a small LED on the box to indicate Single or Dual mode.
Next press Menu on the remote and go to Properties (9). Click Select and then navigate to Closed Captions (6). Click Select. Go to the Closed Caption On/Off line (1) and press the left arrow and then the up/down arrow to set to the captions to On. Press the right arrow and then Select with Done highlighted. Exit the Menu by hitting Cancel repeatedly.
I hope this helps.

SOURCE: turn off closed caption on input(component) on Sharp Aquos 42"
I have a Sharp Aquos 46" and go a Comcast HD receiver as well, and had the same problem turning off the Closed Captioning. I order to turn it off you need to go into the box user setting by (starting w/ the cable box and tv on) pressing the power button for the cable box then the menu button for the cable box. This will open up the user settings menu. Just toggle CLOSED CAPTION to DISABLED.

SOURCE: We can not get CC Closed Captioning to turn off.
had a power outage and it said to reset the clock I went some where and changed the close caption from off to on. It was a in a set up menu
SOURCE: why is my close caption on and it want go off
If your TV is connected to a HD cable or satelitte box then the closed captioning needs to be shut off on the box not the TV.
Not all TV programs and product
commercials are made with
Closed Caption (CC) information
included. Neither are all Closed
Caption modes (CC1, or CC2) necessarily
being used during the transmission
of a closed caption program.
Refer to your area's TV program listings
for the stations and times of
Closed Caption shows.
To close the close caption display from screen; press "CC" button on the remote control.
