Instructions

Recharge your iPhone. Plug it into a power outlet using the USB cable and power adapter that came with it. Within a couple of minutes, your screen shows a battery icon with a red sliver of power. Don't use your iPhone for at least 10 minutes or until the battery icon turns green. Your empowered iPhone should now be fully functional again.

Force a faulty app to quit. Press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button on your iPhone's top-right edge. Release your hold when a red slider appears onscreen. Ignore the slider and press the "Home" button for six seconds. Your iPhone should return to the home screen, fully operational.

Force your iPhone to restart. This technique is especially helpful when your iPhone refuses to turn off normally. Simultaneously press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button for about 10 seconds. Ignore the red slider that appears onscreen and release your hold when the Apple logo appears. Wait for your device to reset itself to normalcy.

Reset your iPhone's settings if your device allows access to them. Tap "Settings," followed by "General." Then tap "Reset" at the very bottom, followed by "Reset All Settings." This restores your device settings to its original factory condition and eliminates any conflicting settings that may have been caused by changes you recently made or a newly installed app. Your songs, music, videos and other data remain intact.

Update your iPhone's software. If a software bug caused your freeze, the latest software may have resolved it. Launch iTunes on your computer and then connect your iPhone using the USB cable that came with it. Click on your iPhone's name when it appears under "Devices" in the left sidebar, followed by the "Summary" tab above the main pane on the right. Click "Check for Update" and then follow the prompts to download and install the update.

Restore your iPhone if all else fails. This resets your device's software and hardware settings to factory conditions, removes all data and then restores everything from a backup. With iTunes launched and your iPhone plugged in, click on your iPhone under "Devices" on the left, followed by the "Summary" tab on the right. Click "Restore" and then "Backup" in the pop-up dialog. Prepare to nurse your iPhone through this process for 20 minutes or more. When done, resynchronize your iPhone in iTunes.

Ive had my iphone for almost 2 years and my friends played a trick o me and locked my phone up to where i have no access and it tells me to hook up to itunes but it dont work.

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. You may have to hold the buttons down for up to 20 seconds before anything happens. Afterwards, your device should restart and return you to the Home screen.Nov 30, 2013

My iphone version of the Sims 3 has frozen in one place. I've waited for over an hour and it still hasn't moved. This is the very first time I've played it.

this is a common problem with some iphone apps, is your iphone installed with the latest software? if it is frozen on your screen and the home button wont work hold down the lock button and the round home button together for about 10 seconds and that will do a little reset on the phone. Also it would be handy to report it in the app store so they can work on fixing that bug.

Screen frozen

Try a hard reset first. (menu and on/off button together for 5sec) if it boots again, but then doesn't repspond touch sensor screen needs replacement. Take it to the apple store and see if they'll give you a replacement. If they don't there are third party iPhone Repair Services that can fix it for you. There are also free iPhone Repair guide that show you how to fix it yourself.

My iphone stays frozen on the apple screen

just try a hard reset by holding down the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds. See if that works and then connect to the USB port of your computer and see if iTunes starts automatically and recognize it.
