the circuit board inside the amp is fried how do i get another board?

  • Darren Stagg Jul 23, 2012

Fried is not good - I can't say for sure with your particular unit but there is usually just one main board and "fried" means possible burned parts and/or the board itself. That could be the result of a problem in the power supply or on the flip side my have damaged the power supply. You're likely going to need a new amp. What's the model of the amp?

Most likely a cable problem - that hum is likely 60hz hum from an improper ground connection. The cable between the sub and the amp needs to be checked and repaired or replaced.

Hello. I just purchased these speakers and there is a low static hum in them. Also, if I turn up the bass volume on the subwoofer I get a deep hum and no sound. Any assistance would be greatly...

Double check your wiring again, sounds like something is either not hooked up right or maybe you got faulty speakers. There shouldn't be any hissing or humming in any speakers. Get a flash light and make sure you have it in the right spot on your computer most sound cards have about 5 different jacks you could have simply put it in the wrong jack.

I got a ibanez bass soundgear gio series, when i move the cable plug in to the plug hole of the bass just touching the plug head attached to the hole, makes some circuitbreaker sound like "toc"...

The jack on the guitars is a stereo type jack. The "ring" contact actually is connected to the battery and whenh the PLUG is inserted FULLY it coonects the ring contact of thee jack to the slkeeve contact of the jack which completes the circuit to turn on the battery. Hence while insertying the plug you will firsst get a snap as the tip of the plug ties to the ground of the guitar which is floating and picks up hum. Next the tip will touch the battery connection and get a snap. Finally when fully inserted both the battery is connected as well as the audio.
SOME guitars, especially those with tuners built inj will try tio fire up when the tip (audio) touches the battery cinnection. This may cycle and create the repetitive sound as it tries to start.

My subwoofer on my philips 5.1 speaker system is constantly generating lots of bass noise even on mute.

I assume you are using XP. Try these steps.
1. Open 'Sound and Audio devices' in Control Panel.
2. Select 'Advanced...' button near bottom. b2053f1.jpg

3. Select 5.1 system 972ed04.jpg

4. Start playing a sound.
5. Set the volume control of the subwoofer to the middle position.
6. Open volume control and adjust Master volume to a comfortable level (i.e. until there is no hum).

Also make sure you haven't muted any sound device except microphone. I think your problem is you have set it to the maximum level. So decrease it.
7. Mute the sound and check.
Good luck! Let us know the result.

Unwanted bass coming out of my subs

there has to be sumthn hooked up wrong bc i have had same problem with my 12' subs but it was simply a matter of my rca jacks but sense you have checked them try rewiring the speakers if that does not work then your rca module may be burned out within the amp..iso then check the amp by taking the cover off and making sure nuthn is burned on the inside.or if any wires are loose or touching.

Fender Rumble 100 210 pop noise then hum after strong low e note

I just fixed my bass amp with a similar problem last week: the problem is related to a loose connection on the PCB board (likely).
A bass amp is a rough place for circuitry: the low rumble and power shake a bass amp more than a guitar amp.
In my case, the power transistors needed to be re-soldered and then the grounding bolts and screws needed to be removed and cleaned because the connection was bad. Remember that when two different metals needed for an electric connection are toughing, there is the likelyhood that corrosion WILL happen.
My bass amp did basically the same thing yours did: sounded good at low volumes, but at higher volumes it would act up.
In short, there is nothing you can do (unless you are a repair person): you need to take it to a local music shop and have a tech fix the intermittant contact problem: someone who knows what they are doing should only take an hour at most.

Hope that helps!

Replace C21 (10uF/50V) and C38 (2.2uF/50V) and it will work great.

Acoustimass Subwoofer has a low "hummm" sound when turned on.

Sounds like an inadequate ground wire in the signal cable. You may have to replace the cable between the reciever and bass module. It also, however, may be IN the bass or reciever module.

Subwoofer amplifier hum on high bass boost.

Try attaching a crossover caps of 0.22mf over the inline resistor(out put). This will filter the humming sound created when no sound is played.
