Go to setup-->select Lock--> HIGHLIGHT password (do not select it)-->type on your remote the numbers "210499"--> make sure that now it says None instead of Change

I had the same issue twice (2 diffrent devices) on LG Blue-ray HX-906 - stuck on "please wait" after switching it on. It turned out to be defective mainboard - main BGA chip (the one with black radiator) has some problem with connection to mainboard. Here is how to repair it:
- dismount the mainboard
- take off the radiator from the main chip
- put alluminium foil around the chip to avoid unnecessary heating up of other parts of PCB
- heat up the chip using air hotgun to about 200 celsius for about 5 minutes.
You can't change the region unless some egg head has hacked the program codes to do it, other than that the factory doesn't release the information to reprogram the region. Sorry
If the Blue-ray movie disc does not play then the Region Code of the disc does not match the Blye-ray player's region code. This is the same type of Region code locking as they have on DVD discs. For Blue-ray region code information, check out this WEB site. http://regionfreemovies.com/
Are you talking about the wireless security password that allows you to establish a wireless connection? Or, are you talking about the CIFS login and password that allows you to see shared folders on your computer.
If you can't establish a wireless connection, try changing the type of security you currently have set up on your router. For example, if you are using WPA, try switching to WEP and see if you can then connect the BD570 to the router. As a last option, you could try turning off all security (for a brief time, of course) and see if the BD570 will connect to your router.
If you are having the dreaded CIFS login and password problem (and you are using a Win7 computer), uninstall Windows Live Login-Assistant and Windows Live Essential 2011. Both programs interfere with the ability to use CIFS file sharing on the BD570.
Software updates have to be done on bluray players whenever the technology in bluray discs themselve is changed. If you call the number for 20th century fox on the back of the bluray a representative there will explain to you what has changed technologically in this bluray that has caused there to be software updates for all of the bluray players. I believe LG can send you a disc so that you can update your player. Give them a call. The bluray players are all manufactured and shipped to the stores. In the meantime if an update is needed and its sitting on the shelf at the store until you buy it, even if you've just bought it an hour ago it will still need to be updated. The stores do not unbox the blu ray players and update them for you. However the Geek squad will update bluray players for customers for a fee.
