KitchenAid KCMC155J Seems like the Microwave Fan runs continuously and won't stop nor will it turn off when hitting the cancel button. You can program cooking or set a time for heating something, that will work.. when the time runs out..the fan continues to run. Only stops when opening the door. Once door is shut the fan starts again.

Sounds like a classic bad door switch or switch holder. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety info, info on door switch testing and replacement, and oven disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

By the way, my answer presumes you're talking about the internal cooling fan, not the hood fan.

Hood fan trouble is usually a failing thermostat inside the oven.

Hi I have a Sanyo Convection Microwave EM-C5779V and when the timer goes off the fan seems to continue to run and won't turn off when I hit the cancel button and have to turn it off at the wall.Help?

the fan may keep running to keep it from overheating until it cools down, if you let it go and it shuts down eventually should be no problem, maybe 3 to 5 minutes it should shut down. fan running is not dangerous however if it never stops then the fan will wear out

KitchenAid KCMC155J 1000 Watts Convection / Microwave Oven - how to change the light bulbs - can this be done without having to call a tech?

The service number for this microwave is 1-800-422-1230. I have seen this question posted on several sites with no answers. Also, I checked the Owner's Manual and I do not see an answer to this question. If I had to guess, I would say that if there is no access from the inside of the microwave, you may have to remove it from the wall as the access might be on the back of the unit.

Microwave still runs when door is open

Is this by any chance a combination microwave? It is is-what you are hearing/seeing is the fan running to cool it down. If it is not a combi then indeed you hav a problem-probably linked to the door catch.

Microwave/Convection Oven has mind of its own: turns to Crisp mode on its own.

Yes this is a touchpad issue. As you have noted the crisp button is stuck and this is the cause of this. You can try removing the keypad and push up the pressed button. If its jammed then replacing it is the only way.
