Its not a problem I enjoy fixing things, does the sound stop when you unplug the xbox or dvd player? If it does try switch the wires, plug the red into the white and the white into the red, I want to see if the problem moves. ok, now we are getting somewhere, disconnect everything from the tv you have attached, one by one listening for a change in sound, by doing this we isolate the problem to the tv only. with everything disconnected we want to change the input selected, moving from video one->video two-> hdmi-> and so on, listening for any changes in sound. once we isloate it to the tv we can start isolating the area. ok, now we are getting somewhere, disconnect everything from the tv you have attached, one by one listening for a change in sound, by doing this we isolate the problem to the tv only. with everything disconnected we want to change the input selected, moving from video one->video two-> hdmi-> and so on, listening for any changes in sound. once we isloate it to the tv we can start isolating the area.

We are looking for any wire that may be grounded, it wont take much from speaker vibration for the metal edges to nick the thin plastic covering on the wires. The board is a high probability but wiring is just as likely, if one of the wire grounds out itll generate a signal and be amplified by the sound board.
