You will need to turn of the water and remove the handle, then remove the large brass or chrome ring behind the center sleave that is behind the handle. now that ring is what holds the cartridge in the valve body, you will need to remove the cartridge the rubber seats and springs will both need to be changed ,you can buy a rebuild kit for this facuet, it has everything you need even the o rings you will find in there . Hope Ive Solved your problem! Thanks

I have a Delta Tub/Spout Pull Down Diverter that has a pretty persistent drip. The HOT and COLD handles are turned off and seem to be as tight as they can be. After doing some research online I believe...

If your Delta RP17453 Pull-Down Diverter Tub Spout stops dripping after 5 minutes, your ok. If it never stops dripping, you need to replace delta faucet cartridge(s) behind the handle(s). This is were the water turns on and off and stops the water flow to the tub spout.

Delta faucets are some of the easiest to repair, and parts are usually available at any hardware store or home center. If you have a two handle faucet, replace both delta seats and springs and stems. If you have a single handle Delta faucet, replace the entire cartridge.

How do you remove the handle from a classic delta single handle tub faucet? I don't see a way to take off the handle itself to replace the cartridge.

On most delta models you pop the cap in the center of the handle. Then there is a screw to remove the handle. If it is old the bonnet can be hard to remove. Be careful, as you don't want to damate the complete faucet behind the wall.

Leaky single lever bath tub faucet

Faucet is leaking due to seats bad.

1- Turn water off first and remove handle and remove collar that holds stem and remove it..

2- in valve there are seats that looks like caps they may be in valve body or the end of stem itself.

3- Remove them and the springs and replace them this will take care of the leaking problem.

How does the cap assembly rp4993 come off, or do you have disassembly instrutions you can email?

The part number rp4993 I believe are the seats and springs for Delta faucets. Be sure to turn off the water before you begin. If you are working on a Delta, I am guessing a single handle. Then once you have removed the handle, the bonnet or cap should be exposed. There is a little grooved section that goes around the bonnett that you can grip with pliers or a pipe wrench. It should unscrew counter clockwise. Once this is off you can remove the ball and seats and springs to replace. I hope this helps.

Water leaks from the shower head. I have a delta

You may want to replace the ball or cartridge whichever the case may be. Also be sure to use Genuine Delta parts as they will hold up much better than the aftermarket parts. I hope this helps.
