Why won't our BOSCH TWK8633 stay switched on?

You don't say how old your kettle is, but if it is less than 1 month, I would go back to the retailer where you purchased. Make sure you have your guarantee or proof of purchase.... Otherwise, going by past experience, kettles that won't stay switched on usually need de-scaling. Even if you can't see any lime scale in the kettle, there are sediments in the water that will build up over time & that can cause the element to overheat. This makes the kettle switch off prematurely or not switch on at all. In the UK, regardless of where you live, you should de scale your kettle at least once a month. If this doesn't work, you should still go back to the retailer, but if it's found that the malfunction uis diue to lack of de-sclaing, this isn't usually covered by the warranty....good luck!

Dualit kettle on switch wont stay on

Had the same problem with a 3 yr old 1.5l Dualit model JKT43. The problem was that the little grey presence switch in the bottom of the kettle which engages with the pillar on the base had worn. I put 2 layers of electrical insulation tape around the pillar on the base and problem fixed. However, this is not a good permanent solution.

My electric kettle is starting to break.

It sound like the temperature sensor that switches the kettle off when it has reached the correct temperature is faulty. It would probably be cheeper to replace than repair

I have an Edinburgh (I think) kettle which I have been very happy with, but now the switch will not stay down, occasionally I make connection. What can be done?

The switch is operated on what is called a thermocouple - the most lightly problem is lime scale. Get some limescale remover from your local hardware. or you can use spirit vinegar and boil the kettle a couple of times. Give it a really good clean afterward or your coffee will taste awful! Good luck.

I have a dualit 72402 kettle which is not heating, when put on base, switch will stay down and neon lights possibly the element has gone but I cannot unscrew base of kettle to check it,do you sell this tool...

I have a similar problem and spoke to Dualit who say that the element is probably blown. As the unit is sealed into the base it is not repairable and should be scrapped. Not really a solution more a way forward

Kettle will not stay on

Sounds like the switch is weight sensitive. A safety feature to prevent overheat as contents run low? The baseplate is probably not moving freely enough to move accordingly.
