AE-710 When I power on my AE-710 the typewriter does not allow me to type. Rather it just beeps continuously and I am unable to do anything.

  • Anonymous Apr 17, 2009

When I turn on typewriter and the carriage moves to the left margin and

    just keeps beeping.

    Printwheel is installed properly
    No keys stuck
    Tried WD40 on shaft
    Nothing worked

Check to be sure the printwheel is installed properly, look for any keys that may be stuck down, put a little WD40 on the shaft that the printer slides on.

Check the flex cable harness that moves as the carriage goes back and forward left to right.
Possible one or more of the wires have broken there.
