We have just the globe; no phone connected to it. The lighted words/numbers/incoming call #'s are cut off on the bottom. Only the upper 2/3 light up. Lightening struck my backyard and the caller id portion of the globe stopped! It still says time/date but nothing else. I've tried to reset it by unplugging it. Any ideas?

It's dead sorry to say.
We have owned several of them in the past and the manual itself is NO help.
We have tried to call Olympia and Sharper Image and still no help.
They have a very short life span, unfortunately.
The only thing that you might be able to do is, unplug the unit for about an hour or so, and plug everything back in. It may reset itself.

for most problews, including caller id, follow these instructions in order:
Put the battery into the battery compartment and connect to the
connectors inside the battery compartment.
Connect the power adapter and telephone cord into matching jacks on the under side
of the base.
Plug the power adapter into the electrical outlet. Plug the telephone cord into the
telephone socket.
my caller id was not working, but everything else was. I followed the instructions above EXACTLY IN ORDER and the caller id is now working.

No illumination, Spinner is spinning but no info on globe.
