Many of the older DVD and CD players will not play disks recorded on a computer. This has to do mainly with the laser optical response.
There were several manufactures that manufactured their laser unit with a built in filter that would not allow their player to read non pressed CD disks (disks burned with a home computer).
When buring DVD's or CD's, use the slowest possible speed for the burn to have the highest readablity and least data errors possible for the medium.

According to Crutchfield.com, which does hands-on research, "The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch
(1st, 2nd generation) or iPhone/iPhone 3G. This iPod interface will also not
charge the iPod nano (4th generation)." I'm currently a victim to this JVC abandonment too. I'm looking for a 3rd party adapter that may solve this... Jvc better get on the ball because Ipods are moving forward with newer models... I'll get back to you if I find a compatible adapter.. K

check to be sure the deck has 12v+ switched to the red wire, 12v+ constant to the yellow wire, and that the black is grounded well.. If all of that is correct, you are probably looking at a unit in need of repair.
try and connect the green long wire to a earth. when i had mine installed they just connected it straight to the back of the unit earth point at the back in the middle
it wont read my ipod or my iphone
