Do you have two adjustment screws down in a hole in the carb?
If you do they are the carb. high and low adjustment.
What I do is take a hacksaw and cut a groove right in the housing an the screw heads .that way you can adjust them Good luck

If it cranks good , that rules out the spark plug. cause a bad plug it would be hard to start same with a dirty or clogged fuel filter, and what we were asking and I guess It is my fault for not makeing it easer to understandis. How do you adjust the carb. but now we know it takes a 5 mm female hex driver to turn the adjustments. Thanks every one.r

the high speed needle is set first ( one closest to the air filter) to obtain smooth high rpm running then the idle needle ( next to the engine ) is adjusted as you slowly slow down the rpm
final idle speed is achieved by adjusting the throttle screw and should be just slow enough that the centrifugal clutch is not engaged

Rough idle, bogs when I give it throttle then dies

Brad:

Go back to the carburetor adjustment screws and snug them down gently. Do not use force on those screws or you'll damage the needle valve seats. Turn both screws out one and a quarter turns out and start the saw. The motor should stay running.... if not adjust the screws until it stays running. Turn one screw in until you hear the motor start to stall, then turn that screw out just a little bit. turn the other screw in until the saw starts to stall, then turn that screw out a little bit. Now if the saw bogs at full throttle, turn one screw out one quarter turn. See if the saw runs at full throttle... if not turn that same screw in to where it was and try the other screw the same way. If you're good, you can adjust the screw while the saw is running to get the best full throttle run. This is not an exact science, and it takes time and many adjustments to get the saw to idle and run at full throttle. Good luck... and have patience.

Weed eater bogs down when i try to give it full throttle, won,t get up enough speed and torque to trim grass. i tried new gas, spark plug, and still doesn,t help.

have to adjust the high on the carb. should have, 3 screws, 2 that are together is your h for high, and L for low. the one by itself is for idle. when mackine is running, squeeze throttle and adjust the high til it clears up, if it stalls real fast, back counter clockwise while off, and try to restart it, if worse, go the other way. i do mine by 1/4 turns. keep count of turns in case your going the wrong way! hope this helps!

Craftsman 29cc 4 cycle weed eater. Cranks but will only idle. Seems to bog out. Will only run in full choke at idle. Have changed gas and checked lines for leaks or stoppages. None found. Can not...

remove the sediment bowl on the bottom of the carb, but dont lose the gasket and watch out when the float drops so the needle and spring in the bore dont fall and you lose them, then clean out any dirt in the bowl and in the needle seat andget some carb cleaner and throughly clean out all openings in the carb, its a california carb thats why there are no adjustments

Wont run at full throtle, bogs like a sick cat. I have went through the carb with a kit and cleaned it put a new coil on it and new spark plug. The carb womt adjust out for high speed.

SORRY but you didnt clean that carb good enough,if it will not adjust. Also remove the muffler and check for carbon build up in the exhaust port.Check also the spark arrestor screen, they plug up. If that engine cannot breath it will not come too full speed.
Hope that gives ya somewhere to start looking

Chainsaw idles but bogs out and dies when given full throttle.

First thing,
Check the air filter, once checked, & clean/replaced,
Adjust timing.
This is a very easy job to undertake on small petrol engines.
1: adjust the gap between the contact & the magneto,
2:Or adjust the space on the tip of the plug.
So simple.

Carburetor adjustment weed eater fl sst 25,will only run if held 90% to the right.

My machine didn't run idle either. Took carburator apart of the Sst 25. Cleaned it with gasoline and a brush. But no luck. Figured it must be the nozzle of the idle. There are two more or less hidden black adjustment screws for the nozzles (idle and gas). I used a plastic tube from a ballpoint to take screw out, ran some air through it, reassembled it and now the machine runs smooth again...
