IPad shuts down itself

While on my iPad (original) all the sudden, it goes black screen, powers off. I must restart to continue, sometimes it will shut down several times then, other times it may work all day without shutting down by itself. Every time it shuts down, I perform a reset. It happens again. When it shuts off, I don't necessarily have to be doing anything, may be reading an email for example. I am unable to find any information on this occurring with others. Thanks for your assistance. Bill

    Charley Brown, Please forgive my delay in answering your solution, I was called out of town for a couple of days. And unable to get to the internet. Yes, My reset was with the home and power buttons, which I had tried two or three times with no success. However, your solution to perform a factory restore seems to have corrected the shut downs. So far today, it has not shut down once. Please except my sincere thanks, Bill

It seems that you've already tried reset (holding the home and power buttons, right?) the iPad and it does not work.

So you may need to connect your iPad to your computer and do a factory restore using iTunes.

SOURCE: I have just got an

You will need to setup a Exchange mail account on your ipad to receive all the mail and calendar items that you see on your Outlook mail and calendar.
Here is how to add an exchange account:
. From the Home Screen, tap Settings
2. Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Select Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.
4. Now type into the following information:

* Email: your email address
* Username: your-Exchange-User-name
* Password: your-mail-password
* Description: It's Optional
* Server: ****.com

For your username, and server names, you will need to contact your company's IT department for the credentials. But your username is the one your IT dept. gives you for email access and password. exchange server name is the server address to access your mail.

SOURCE: iPad replace broken screen

the only thing that i can be sure that would help is that you need to call the manufacturer and get a screen replacement because since the ipad is fairly new it wont have many guides or anything that can really fix a broken screen.

i hope that this can be useful

How to connect to internet doesnt recognize router password

Are you sure of Wifi password is correct?
if so, 1st; try restarting your ipad by holding down power/sleep button untill it show "Slide to shut down" leave it off for 10 seconds & then re-open it.enter the Wifi -password, sometimes this step works.

2nd solution ; try resetting your iPad network settings, it will not affect your ipad in any thing except it will forget all entered passwords for any wifi you have already connected before. go to General from Setting, choose resett, and inside only reset network setting, shut down ipad & try to connect to the wifi again. Hope this solution work for you. Also you may try shutting down & opening your router again after 10 seconds while off. Good Luck.

The touch screen in my Ipad stopped working. It works to unlock or to shut a screen but that's all.

Try restarting it: hold power button down until "slide to power off", power off for 10 seconds, press power to restart.
if that doesn't fix it, reset your iPad: hold BOTH power button and Home button until device resets and apple logo appears.

How to reboot an iPad, a video clip is stuck on running

Rebooting is easy. It is called a hard reboot. Just hold both buttons down until you see a red slider, and then slide it to shut down. It will restart, and you will see the Apple logo.

Why can't I finish playing on mini golf matchup screen goes black on ipad

The app is crashing. Make sure that you have no other apps open in the background as they drain your iPad's processor speed, and that you have at least 1 or 2 GB open in storage as that will help as well. If you haven't in a while shut the iPad all the way off for a minute and then turn it back on. Sometimes that will also help to clean it up and perform better. Make sure your operating system is completely up to date as well. If that doesn't help then the app is just too much for your iPad to run properly.

16GB ipad will not let slide open to put in password

Hi Teresa,

You have two options one to let the battery run out and restart the iPad. The other is to hard shut your ipad down.

You can do this by pushing the power button and the bottom button at the same time for 10 seconds after which you should see the Apple logo and your ipad should restart.

I hope I was able to help you.
Have a great day

How do you reset an Ipad? It's stuck on Itunes and won't reset.

Step 1
To reset the Apple iPad you should first locate the power button. This is the button on the top right corner of the iPad when you are holding it like a book, with the narrower sides on the top and bottom.
Step 2
Once you have located this button you will need to simply hold this button down for about 3 seconds or until you see the red slider icon (a red rectangle with a white arrow facing toward the right) come across the top of the screen. The slide area or the area to the right of the button will be labeled Slide to Power Off.
Step 3
If you want to just reboot to iPad you can do that by touching the red slider button and sliding your finger along the slider area toward the right side of your iPad. The iPad will automatically start shutting down, it may take it several seconds depending on the amount of space you are using on your iPad and the programs you had running when you requested the reboot.
Step 4
To turn the iPad back on or restart it after you have shut it down just press the power button (remember that's the button on the top right of the iPad).

IPAD is disabled

you need to DFU restore your iPhone. Hope you got a backup, because you're losing the stuff on it. with iPad plugged in, hold down the sleep wake switch, and the home button for about 10 seconds, until the iPad turns off. Once the screen goes black, continue holding, count to 8. Release sleep wake switch, continue depressing home button. Wait for iTunes to recognize, and you'll be prompted to restore.
