Im trying to install this cd player in my 1996 vw jetta trek, is there anything i need to know that is out of the ordanary before installing???? ie. i was looking online and one person said something about having to wire something from the remote wire on the stereo directly to the fusebox in the car??? there is an aftermarket stereo currently in the car and there is 2 seperate wires coming from that stereo to the fusebox, i figured they did it that way to listen to the stereo without having to turn the car on! but i know have a feeling there is more to it than that!!! any and all help would be appresheated! thank you

All digital car stereos require 2 power wires to operate and they are all colour coded the same. Red power wire is the wire that runs the stereo while the ACC/ignition is on, the second power wire is yellow and needs to be connected to a constant 12v power source - this wire is what lets the stereo head unit retain all of settings once you have turned the unit off. Without it being connected the unit will lose it's audio settings and whatever radio stations you have tuned in.
