Question about HP LaserJet Office Equipment & Supplies
Posted by Anonymous on
Guys, its easy.. I found a little piece of paper after seeking calmly. It was on the paper pulling system when collecting from the tray. See the pic, it was right whee i'm pointing with my tool. It was locking one of the sensors around there. See in the third image where my tool is pointing.. Its exactly inside and very difficult to see.. And one more thing.. You'll have to unscrew the upper cover to see it..
I love smart gadgets like this. Easy to solve.

An error code showing that there is paper jam alert, but no paper is in anywhere in the machine except in the tray.....I have checked all areas, taken the back carriage of the unit, opened the top and opened the machine. removed the paper tray, everything, but there is no paper stuck in the unit

I had the same problem with a Brother MFC-8460 and called Brother's support line. The solution that worked for me was to lift the top cover where the sheets of paper go through when you fax. On the right of the black rectangluar piece with grey roller there is a slot in the tray with a black lever inside. The black piece was stuck down inside the slot and had to be popped back out. Once it was out I hit the stop button and it was fixed!!

Sometimes while clearing the jam (if there was one) you may leave a bit of paper left behind which obscures a sensor causing it to think there is paper still in the paper path, or sometimes even paper dust can do it. Try a bottle of compressed air and blow the path out very well. Get a bright light (good flashlight) and very throroughly eyeball the paper path for any "foreign" objects...
