Sounds like you may have blown out the alternator protection fuse by hooking the battery cables up backwards. How does one do that?? Check the large "MAXI" fuses in the Under hood fuse box near battery, this will be a large amperage fuse.

to turn the theft lock off you must put key into ignition and turn to ACC, wait ten minutes (light will turn off) then turn the key to off position and pull out. Do this 3 times ( i know 30 minutes is a long time) and then after that the theft lock will turn off and your car SHOULD start.

If you had a short that large before you started working on the batt cables, it would have burned long before it did. Check your work over and see where it's grounding. You can make a temporary link by using a new piece of wire the same as the gauge at both ends of the link and sectioning in a short piece of smaller ga. wire. Hopefully you didn't damage the alternator or other electronics. The original problem sounds like possibly the fuel pump anti drain-back valve is bad (integral with pump) Testing pressure will verify that.
You can disconnect alternator, but the fuse method you mentioned sounds more reasonable.

SOURCE: Starter relay connections

if your starter engages but wont spin check to make sure the starter housing is making good contact on the bell housing or it wont ground out

I have a ford expedition el 2007, my problem is that the starter won't turn on although it works .. i need to know what's wrong asap plz

https://s1.postimg.org/9r6irf1ef3/starter.jpg

Click on the link.
Starter wiring, early production.
My info says your security system is starter disable, the security will also disable fuel injectors.
In the diagram, pull starter relay, use jumper wire between cavities 30 and 87, if possible, the starter should crank. If you try that, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. Terminals 85 and 86 are the control side of relay. Terminals 30 and 87 are the load side of relay.
The control side of relay needs voltage and ground.
The load side of relay, terminal 30 is hot all the time. W/o testing I don't know the problem?

Just bought a new starter for my 98 expedition hooked it up and the battery sparked so bad it almost melted the lead do I have the starter hooked up wrong or could I have a bad ground?

Yes definitely its starter not connected properly issue.

It can be faulty starter or there is loose connection from battery to starter. The starter assembly gets power from battery. Check voltages at starter wires and see if you are getting 12 volts or not. If not then its no power issue due to low battery volt or no connection between battery to starter.

You checked the starter how?

You hear the solenoid click & that doesn't tell you
where it is?

2002 buick Lesabre (Limited) - When operating the AC I have warm air coming out of the on driver's side vents and cold air on coming out the passanger side vents.

check battery, battery cables, starter, starer solenoid, check if your battery have any power left, by turning lights on, if light is strong then on the starter motor, remove the remote wire, the thin wire connected to the starter from the ign. switch, instead of the remote cable, try to by pass it, with battery voltage, with ign switch on on pasition, if your starter works the starter is good if not change the estater, if starter works then check the remote wire, could be damage, could be the starter switch, fuse , or the starter relay. when working on car always make sure if the engine starts there is rotsting components. Thanks

I replaced the battery on my 2002 Saturn Vue and now it won't start. I can't find anything else wrong. Is there a reset button?

do your head lights come on? are you getting a good connection? check this 1st if the lights come on,, then you may have other problems other than a dead battery. it may be a bad starter. or a bad connection at the battery. 1st and always check to make sure there is fire to your car,,, turn headlights on,,if they work, good, turn key w/lights on,if they dim,it means the starter is drawing fire, make sure thebattery is fully charged or being jumped, if all this is good,, the starter is not working, so the starter may be bad,, but before you replace the starter,, check the black fuse box under the hood for a bad fuse or a bad starter relay.. hope this helps!!

2002 GMC Envoy, i put the key in ignition and vehicle will not start sometimes and other times is starts fine. we have checked the starter, battery and battery connections, all fine. Changed the starter...

Ignition switch and neutral safety switch. Next time it happens wiggle thekeys in the ignition switch and try to restart. If it starts its probably the ignition switch. Then locate neutral safety switch on brake pedal and put meter on B+ wire from switch to starter relay and see if you get B+ on the would -be- crank. Next locate B+ wire from starter relay to starter hook a meter to it and see if you get B+ on the would -be crank.
Where ever B+ is missing is your problem.

2002 ford expedition air conditioner needs R 134 refrigerant. I cant seem to locate the service port.

The low pressure valve on the 02 expedition is located on the accumulator on the passenger side fire wall. The accumulator is underneath the battery relay and a grouping of wires. Had to squeeze hand underneath a heater2_bing.gif hose and an a/c line to remove cap and hook up hose. Nothing has to be removed to locate the valve just a little touchy feely. Valve faces a 45 forward toward the engine.

I just change my transaxle on my 95 nissan and starter won't turn

Starter gets his kick from the battery thru a solenoid, which is either mounted on the firewall, fender or next to the starter, If AZ says starter is OK, then it has to be the solenoid or a fuse for the starter relay )which drives the solenoid) or the relay itself.
Check the relay part no and see if one of the others in the relay/fuse cabinet will work as a sub. Test and see if that is the problem, then go buy one ;-)
