SOURCE: no hot water

You need to check that you still have 220 volts to element. Take reading . Sounds like you may need to change breaker out for new at breaker panel, look for 30-40-or 50 amp suggest qualified electrician only or you could have deathly results. Please Rate. Thanks

SOURCE: I just installed a 37.5 Imp Gallon Rheeme Electric

First of all disconnect the power at breaker panel or there should be a dedicated shut-off switch if this is a newer building. At any rate make sure its disconnected before you drain the water heater if power is on when the element is not safely submirged in water it will melt instantly. You can do this with a circuit tester after removing the access panel for the element. Turn off the water at the valve above your heater or at main and drain down below the eelement. Disconnect the wires attached to the element and remove element. This can be difficult without the right tool. The element just screws into the tank by way of a large thin nut welded around the element. You have to get a wrench or maybe channel locks or preferably a large deep socket on this nut and turn it counter-clockwise if your lucky this will work. But because the nut is so thin and in a tight area you might need to get an "element wrench" at home depot or where ever. There are different sizes measure your element first. Its basically just a deep socket made out of cheap steel with a hex outer shape so you can put it over the element nut and use a wrench or pliers.
Put your new elemeent in re-connect the wires, remember where they were connected when you take the element out.
Fill the water heater turn on power and replace cover.

I would also suggest try to tighten the existing elemnt first. If the leak is at the seal and not the element itself then the seal may be at fault and not the element.
Check your warranty, if this is less than a year old you should have unlimited warranty including labor. But I know that rheem simply does't have warranty contracts in place with repair techs in some areas.
If your warranty is unlimited (includes labor) and efective then hold them to it.

SOURCE: Top heating element was broke. Replaced got hot

look for a badly connected power line ont he bottom element, or any connection upstream of the power terminals. voltage readings usually drop to that range when you only have one side of the 220v circuit connected.

MY Rheem 81SV40D Water Heater (47 gal) does not heat enough water. Approximately one bath worth.

You have dual-element 240Volt electric water heater.
Since you have some hot water, then we know upper element is good, and that circuit breaker and electricity to water heater are good.
Not enough hot water is probably bad lower element, and possibly sediment build-up in bottom of tank.
Test element:

Replace 4500 watt element available at local hardware, and clean out bottom of tank:

Electric water heater. water not hot enough

Check if tank is hot.
Open drain valve at bottom of tank, and then raise TP lever at top of tank.
If water is about same temperature both top and bottom, and water temp at tap is cooler, then turn up temperature, and check for crossover and broken dip tube.

If water in lower part of tank is very cool compared with top, then you want to test elements, replace thermostats, and clean sediment out of tank.

After connecting a drain line to the pressure relief valve of my MR85245 water heater, I now have water leaking badly out of the heating element door.

Turn off the electricity.
Turn off the water valve going into tank.
Open a bathtub spout to let hot water pressure off the tank.
Check top of tank for any leaks.
Open the top access panel and see if element is leaking.
Open bottom access panel and see if lower element is leaking.
The reduced pressure on the tank will slow the leak.

If element is the problem, you can squeak by for a while by turning on the hot water heater only when you need hot water.
Order the 'Marathon MR85245 replacement element' online
http://www.gpconservation.com/rheem/marathon-sp213670-titanium-4500w-lower-element
These elements may be available locally, but they are not the same as 'ordinary' tank-type electric heater elements that you buy at the hardware store.
Buy more than 1 element because the Marathon elements have problems.
One of the reported problems with marathon elements is the high price of stainless steel replacement elements.
Drain tank.
Replace element.

I have 240 volts at thermostat and conection on the tank but nothing at the bottom element. no hot water either

Thermostat may be bad and not suppling power to lower thermostat and element.

Sounds like Thermostat not working properly if no power there..

Do you have power to top element and power going into top of bottom thermostat if it has one.

Water is hot but doesn't last long.

Your upper element is burnt out. open top cover, turn power of at breaker panel, drain hot water tank . remove black and red lead wires from the element use a socket to un thread the 3000watt 240 volt screw in element. re install the new element atach wires to element. Fill tank with water before turning on power or you will be replacing both elements very shortly

I have hot water for a minute then it goes to warm. I took off the 2 wires on each element and I have 15 ohms on the top and 5.5 on the bottom. Is my bottom element bad?

Sounds like bottom element may be bad but usually reads open circuit if bad. Also tan k would run about 8 gallons hot water then go cold. lots of warm water usually means bad dip tube.
Check if tank is hot at bottom element when not used for a while. If bottom element is still cold then bad element.
If bottom element is hot - (all water in tank is hot then you have a bad "dip tube" This is allowing incoming cold water to mix with outgoing hot water. The dip tube is usually A part of the cold water nipple or B located under the cold water inlet nipple.

Heating elements do not operate together

That's how they work. First you need to know that cold water goes into the tank near the bottom (because of the "dip tube" inside the tank) and hot water is taken out at the top. Also hot water naturally rises.
so... when the tank is full of cold water the top element will come on and heat up the top 1/3 of the water then the bottom element will come on and finish heating the rest of the tank
