Water to ice maker isn't filling tray.

I've installed a relatively new side by side; FR26R4AW6. The water is hooked up, no leaks, water dispenser works great, but no water is filling up the ice cube maker. Any suggestions? The water dispenser works great, filter looks fine and is reset. Thanks! Richard

I just installed a new one also in my Whirlpool. Does the temp have to be down to 17 degrees before it attempts to fill?

Ice maker not getting water

Probably the dual water valve (that opens when the ice maker needs water ) is leaking and the filling tube gets clogh with ice , or the valve doesn't work ,in both cases it has to be replace.

Does anyone know how to fix an ice maker?

When the ice maker calls for water it pours for about 7 seconds if more will overflow and drips into tray , but the most common problem is the dual valve that leaks even after ice maker called for water (this valve is located in the back of the fridge at the bottom where the water line is hooked up.)

Water not dispensing to fill up ice maker

Hi: Make sure your freezer is at zero degrees F. It will take 24-72hrs for an ice maker to produce when the freezer is at 0 degrees. Only then will the water fill the trays. I hope this helps, Jeff

Ice maker making little ice/Leaking water on floor.

The ice trays bust be cleaned to prevent calcium build up. This will prevent the ice from froming in trays.
The overflow could be caused by the freezer not being level, or by the water fill timer not shutting of the incoming water. This will keep the water temp. too high to freeze the water. Also check the fill valve for sepage.

Just installed ice maker cords, no water filling ice trays

Hi make sure that the arm on the ice maker is in the down posistion as it will only put water in the ice maker in this posistion. It will take a little time to fill so be patient as the timer in the front on the ice maker needs to cycle first. Make sure you have connected it all correctly to...

Ice Maker Overflowing

i would recommend changing the water valves as they may be sticking or leaking now you can take the icemaker loose get a small baby bottle short the terminals to cycle water fill catch it with the bottle and see how much water it dumps should be about 4 ounces if the valve leaks will over fill the ice maker over a period of time say the valve is leaking a few drops at a time and the bail arm has the icemaker shut off because its touching ice in the bin but the water just keeps dripping down the fill tube till it runs over did you replace the whole icemaker or just the motor module

Ice maker leaking

Sometimes the frozen chunk of ice in the back of your ice tub is caused by the tub being overfilled. The ice cubes pile up so high that they come in contact with the defrost heating element in the bottom of the ice maker. This melts the already formed cubes and form a blob of ice in the rear of the tub.

If the "icicle" is forming even when the tub is relatively empty, then it is probably a leaking solenoid valve. This is an electric water valve that opens and closes according to demand. Like any valve, it has seats that eventually leak, especially in areas with hard water. This will need to be replaced. Water filters go a long way in increases the usefaul life span of the valve and will also improve the ice quality.
