Hi, I own a split a/c 12000 btu, the problem is that the last two days it kicks down the fuse. this happens when the compressor tries to start. the a/c was working fine for the past three years. do you thing that there is a problem with the compressor itself? or there is something else that has to do with the electrics?

I think the problem would be the compressor. unplug the unit and if you know how to test the resistance of the terminals, then do a ground check on the compressor. if it is grounded, then it is broke. if not grounded, then observe it as it runs if it would start, if it can not start then you still have to check the starting components such as the capacitor and the wirings associated with it.

tnx for using Fixya

I need to buy the compressor card for sankey air conditioner split model 12inv31

Hi,

Most local home improvement stores do not carry AC components. I would try 1-800-269-2609 or google places in your area that sell AC parts. It could also be that it needs a cleaning. Can you provide any other details? I hope I can help.

I have installed an LMU246 with two heads. One 9000 BTU and the other is a 12000 BTU. The 12000 seems to work fine but the 9000 head dosent cool and when I tried it on heating, a c7 code comes...

with the Lmu24 you have a variable speed compressor i wouldn't suggest attacking this repair on you own, get a Nate certified Sr. service tech out there and have them do cause your taking about high end cutting edge compressor technology, how ever if you need them i can email you a pdf copy of both owners and service manual.
