Well everytime we hook up the HDMI for the playstation 3 to the tv it says invalid format how do i fix this

You must make sure your playstation and your TV set are both set for the same video format (1080p, 1080i, 720p, etc.).

You can either go through all your HDTV formats until it synchs up (give each a good 20 seconds or so before moving on), or you can open the display menu for your PS/3 using a different video connection to your set (i.e. composite), setting both to match, then switching them to HDMI.

I have a problem with using the HDMI

Please make sure that your receiver can display high definition signal, such as 720P, 1080P. As you know your HDTV is high definition source, it can only be displayed on the display machine that have ability to display high definition HDTV signal.
This will help. Thanks, please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Program the hd channels

The FLM-2601 is an 'HD Ready" TV but does not have an HDMI input or a digital tuner, it only has an analog tuner. You will need a cable box or other source to view HD. Using the component inputs (YPbPr) you can get up to 1080i.
